I just lost on a large map, standard settings with 10 civs ... this is the screen I got.

I think we're missing someone

Any ideas? Any takers? I know its not important, just wondering whats going on for curiosity sake.

Cheers and Good Gaming ( hopefully better than mine )

Never more than 8
You never see more than 8 other leaders in your diplomacy screen. Even more interesting, since this has happened to me, is that even if you kill a few of the other 7 civs that show up at first, they will not be replaced with the portraits of remaining civs. In a game with 10 others, 3 civs were killed, taking it down to 8, but there were still 2 empty spots in the diplomacy window (the zulus never made it there). My guess is that the first 7 opponents you put on the list before the game make it in, no one else does- at least this comes from my experience.

You can change which civs show up on the diplomacy screen by shift-right-clicking their portraits.

MWooody: Never knew that, thanks!

GePap: I don't think i understand you quite clearly ... Of the 10 civs that started, i was the only one to be eliminated (this was pretty early on too .. i tried a dumb strategy that backfired on me ... oh well) ...

I still don't know why the box is black ...

Cheers
