Removing cities

I am sure someone has already answered this, but I can't seem to find it in the forum.... Is there a way to get rid or 'delete' a city if you don't want it anymore? I have 9 cities on an island and 1 on the other side of the world and I would like to remove the far away city. Any ideas guys? thanks

if its making no food, when u make a settler/worker to remove its last pop value it will disband

make all the people tax collectors, and starve all but 1 or 2 of the citizens , then rush a worker or a settler
