Will Multi Play Be Apart Of The Game?
I was wondering if there will there ever be possible to play multiplayer via Internet?

Nothing is better than a game against real humans.

When Soren Johnson had his chat with us at mIrc he would not comment on if there would be an multiplayer Edition.

And i have'nt seen any writing about multiplayer, exept someone complaining that multiplayer is'nt possible.

Player A (sans Oil): "Hey, can I trade you for Oil? I've got a load of luxeries and gold..."

Player B (avec Oil): "And I've got a load of Mech. Inf./Jet Fighters/Bombers/Tanks etc. Wanna trade me 1/2 of your cities/give me gold/luxeries for free or shall I just take them?"

Player A (sans Oil): "Umm... what about you, Player C - you're the only other one with Oil? I've got lots to trade."

Player C (avec Oil): "Me and Player B have decided to milk the rest of you newbies who don't have Oil for everything your worth. Now what luxeries have you got again? Don't make me come over there and smack you..."

Sounds like a fun game if you're players B or C. A bit sucky if you're player A or any of the other players, really isn't it?

rid102: That is the way of the game if you can't compete with youre competitors.
If you don't want to play multiplayer, there is no one forcing you too play.

Is there any one that can answer my questions?

i'm sure there'll be MP sooner or later (likely later). firaxis has previously said that they were "working" on MP and i'm certain that a certain publisher won't pass up the chance for a few more $$$.

I remember when Firaxis announced that the promised Multiplayer feature was to be dropped from the final release. Supposedly, the MP version was really buggy and it was going to take a great deal of time for them to straighten things out with it. If I recall correctly the Firaxians said they would shot for a April-May 2002 time frame for the release of multiplayer support and that the SP game would be released in Nov..
Fast forward to today and the SP was released in Nov. just as promised so I think there is a better then even chance that MP will be released in four or five months.

That said I hope they take alot of notes from CTP2's multiplayer interface. It was really well done and it allowed players to determine the starting amount of gold and settlers, excluded units, excluded wonders, starting age, number of civs, specify which civs were played by which player, speed cities or time limit or no time limit, privite or public chatting with other players, and a host of other little nicities. The main thing they should be focused on here is game Stability and bug fixes because word of mouth spreads ten times faster with multiplayer games then with single player games. I hope this helps.

My guess is the 'MGE' version will be the REAL Civ III we've all been waiting for, with the bugs worked out.

What kind of scenario is this ?
Everybody knows you need allies when you play MP.

Take this scenario for example:

Player A> Hey player B, need some headstart ?
Here are some stupid warriors.
Attack them until you get a leader, so you can rush-build the great wall.
Player B> Thanks dude, here are some of my stupid warriors.
Build yourself the pyramids with your own leader.
