Some people aren't happy with the game; those people come in two types. The first is those that post constructive criticism of the game and maintain a calm and rational manner; the second is those that just decide to be an ass about it.

In fact I would welcome that. That would be a nice chance to just really ****ing ruin their corporation. Also, thanks for responding to what I said by reall refuting my statements. Simply stunning! Ladies and gentlemen, the great Firaxian Dave Magaha!

You talk like this was some kind of objective fact.
Personally, I happen to LIKE the way the gameplay is designed in Civ-3. I dont like everything of course, but the things I dont like can easily be fixed through patches, and/or more adjustment-related options in that game-editor. Im sure they add at least 1-3 more patches still on top of this first one.

EnigmaticGod, to answer your original question, yes, you are the only one that finds this patch pathetic. But pathetic is such a subjective word.

I knew that once the patch was out people would start to complain about it. I do think that Infogrames does not treat its costumers right, and that Civ3 seems rushed out the door. I also wish that mp was included in the first release of Civ3. With all that I still think Civ3 is a good game and I have a lot of fun playing it. I think that it is improvement over Civ2.
Most of you I think put high expectations on the patch, it seems that some thought that firaxis was going to do a total redo of the game with the new patch. Then when you found out that this was not the case you complain and complain about it. First you have to realize that patches are for fixing bugs that are in the game and minor adjustments, and they almost never add new things to the game. I am not trying to defend firaxis or anything just trying to give it realistic view of the situation.
This patch is much better than the ones I have seen before for other games. I am glad that they fixed the bugs with the air units and made corruption more manageable. Also some of you guys need to relax, it is just a game. If you really hate the thing and think it is worst game you have ever played, return it and get your money back.
I don't think that firaxis is the best game company on the planet. And I think that the things that Infogrames has done to people is horrible, and that Firaxis could have done a better job with Civ3, but I think large part is that they ran out of time and money. Anther thing there already threads on the patch, and people are voicing their views on it there, good or bad. Why do people always have to start a new thread when they have a complaint about the game? I just don't get that.
