I found a problem in this patch.
The relationship (and trade) lines in the forein advisor screen totaly disappear after you open the military advisor page.
I need to reload my game to see them again.

Thank you, Apolyton!
Apolyton, thank you for mirroring the Civ3 patch! I was 80% complete downloading it from the Civ3 site (at a miserable 1.9kb rate!) when their server saw fit to reset! However, I was able to successfully download off of your site--at an improved download rate, even! So thanks.

HELP ME !! ANYBODY !!
I've had the game since it came out and still not been able to play full turn.
I have what appears to be 2 or 3 lines of writing on top of one another, sometimes no text at all when I know there should be some there, and everytime I get towards the end of my turn, the game crashes.
Official tech support were piss-poor (adjust your font size I was told - it didn't work)
Now I have the patch, and nothing has changed - am I doing anything obviously wrong ? I have the latest drivers for all of my hardware and still nothing.
I love the CIV games but this is so frustrating - please help.

Perhaps they are unrelated issues since they were mentioned separately in the patch release notes. I'm happy for you that your communism has improved. But in my democracy, there is zero discernable change.

Someone has reported that you must delete all Luceda fonts.

strange language
I just downloaded the patch and installed it and then, to look up the changes in the editor I started it. To my big surprise, all the menus were written in german! But that wouldn't be such a problem, but the civ3mod.bic seemed to be warped. In other words: NOTHING is inside of the file! no buildings, no units, just nothing. And yes, I DID "lade datei" (load file) to ensure, it's really the civ3mod.bic I'm talking about.
This is quite annying because obviously the game doesn't work, without this file... Furthermore, the game says I shall put the cd inside the driver when I try to start it. Something it never did, before the patch...
So I'm wondering, why I've got a german editor (???) and why theres nothing inside the civ3mod.bic file?
I'm living in switzerland, maybe the patch will come in the language of the land you're computer is? But, well I've got (as many others) the US-IMPORT version, so I really NOT want a patch for the german version which, as far as I know, not even exists by now...

I'd bet but I still have money riding on how many long it takes before you post anything of value - I said you'd trip the Warlord level before you actually had a contribution to make.

Of course, they should probably actually install the patch, first. But when has that ever stopped them from making stuff up? I'll give them about half an hour for the first complaint to show up. Bets, anyone?

Same old Woody, more interested in the gameplayers than the game...
To the patch topic, I have installed it - haven't had a chance to play it though other than to make sure it works and load my saved game. I do notice that for some reason it doesn't know intrinsically where to install to - sort of wierd, it really ought to know it's own install point...

I really wanted to praise this patch.......
But there is just one thing missing for me, I think I must have imagined that it was on the patch list as I had expected it to be fixed.
The Science Advisor!!! Is still broke when playing an altered scenario (and i'm just talking about a few map/rules changes, no changes to the actual tech tree)
PLEEEEEEASE make this a priority on any future patch stuff problems with balance they are not as noticable to some as a huge graphical glitch on the science advisor is!
Aloisia Vonotar
p.s. I think the "wierd" shadow effect that some are complaining about is actually one of firaxis's fixes as when the pop size colour and the civ's colour are similar it used to be impossible to read the pop size.

I AIR SUPERIORITY!!!
By implication (unless I'd just got to Flight within four hours of playing) - you can also realise that SAVE GAMES from the old version WILL WORK WITH THE NEW PATCH!!!

@vanator
I suppose they call this one a graphic card issue - so it's (y)our problem...

whose "vanator"?????
The Science Advisor problem is an identified (by players and Firaxis) bug. I was hoping to be able to play Civ3 with Marla's excelent map (accurate landmasses, correct starting positions) but while the scenario works the science advisor is still broke

In another thread it appears Firaxis is stating not all of the changes of the patch will occur in saved games, including the reduced corruption.

I downloaded from Civ3.com at 25kbps before the rush. (took 4.5 minutes) . You need to be faster, or slower next time.

It appears that 1.16f's corruption reduction is occuring in a previously saved game (perhaps 10-15% difference in a remote city). May shave 50 turns off a Forbidden Palace construction (yeah!)
Assumes that effects of Democracy and (especially) WLTKD affects don't change from turn to turn.

And now for something completely different (for me)!
Dear Dan & Fellow Firaxians,
Let it be known that the 1.16f Civ3 Editor Help/Documentation still 'bleeps' eggs!
BTW, I know how it can be when you are involved and 'too familiar' with a subject. I'll get to specific examples of how it is 'as clear as mud' later (I hope), but right now I'm playing the game, not with the editor.
An independent documentation 'booklet' would be totally acceptable. All in one place, please. Not spread around in a forum, thank you.
What's 'totally different?' Why, the 'complaint' of course!

I just experienced my first crash in Civ3 and that was after installing the patch, it may just be a coincidence (I was losing that game anyway so I was thinking of quitting to desktop ).
In the game I'm playing now as the Babylonians I took a Zulu city of one population and the city was automatically destroyed, I didn't get the chance to choose if I wanted to keep it, I did get the message saying how much gold I had gotten. I never experienced this before the patch.
Is it a feature or a bug?
Anyway, thanks for the patch!

One of the changes that I have noticed is that the patch seems to revert one of the changes back to Civ 2. I am speaking of the automatic destruction of a city of size 1 when it is captured. Also, it is not even an option in the editor. I hope that in the next version of the patch that Firaxis will allow us to decide if we want this.
Besides that, I love the new patch.

i've noticedthe same problem, the lines in the forign advisor dissapear the second time you go to the advisor. you need to restart the program to see them again. this was only after the patch was applied.
i'm running w2k pro with a mobility m3 vid card (ati) and 128 megs of memory.

Yes I agree with Shuttleswo!!!!
Same thing happened to me, so I restarted the computer and then it worked fine. If that still doesn't work then re-install and then restart BEFORE loading up Civ3.
If it STILL doesn't work make DAMN sure you KEEP THE PATH FILE NAME the game suggests when you first install- I have found that changing it causes loads of problems.

To me it seem to be fixed after I installed the updated version.
