boxes on map view after "new" patch
I am running the latest patch (post 10:15 dec 7th) and I am getting boxes placed on the map view. They do not seem to correspond to city location, or anything else as far as I can tell. They do not seem to appear until I access the foreign advisor, and possibly the science advisor.
Anyone else see this yet?

I have these boxes as well. They are the lines around the city info graphic (pop number, name, production) and they are drawn several tiles below the place they actually should be.

Same with the "settler border"

I didn't have these glitches pre-patch (patch #2, Win98SE)

The problem stems from running in a resolution above 1024 in Win98. It affects Nvidia and ATI users so it's not apparently related to video cards or drivers.

The only work around is to run in 1024 resolution even though that's not much of a solution if you actually like to see enough of the map to make decisions.

Who knows, maybe in another month they'll get another patch to fix the problems introduced by this patch.

Same problem here, I will try to play in 1024, but I previously had problem, since my res is 1154xSomething and I hate switching res, and setting the res in the ini never worked.

It's not a gamebreaker, but REALLY annoying, hehe
