Lib,
I wasn't responding to your post, I was referring to Expatriate's. I don't have any knowledge of planned future features, which is why I haven't responded to any inquiries about stack movement.
My M.O. has never changed: I post in topics that I can actually answer or contribute to in some way. If there's a question I can't answer, it doesn't seem particularly beneficial for me to pop in and say "Sorry, I don't know".
Dan

Fair enough, Dan. Thank you.
Perhaps given three threads with unanimous consent on the topic, you might care to enlighten us as to who could (and would) answer our question.

Jeff would probably be your man. However, if you've read some of my pre-patch posts, it's highly doubtful we'll make a statement about any features until we are 100% sure the feature will be added or not. A more likely response is going to be "thanks, we know you want stacked combat and we'll take that into consideration."
I think we've learned our lesson as far as speculating about potential features before we're sure they'll make it into a product or not.
Dan

Okay. But it isn't "stacked combat". It's stack (or group) movement.
[...sigh...]
A feature that would be unreservedly desired by anyone who's played the game beyond the ancient era.

I have made many attempts. I'm only trying to help Civ3, not make it worse.

If you are following the proper and established channels, you are not emailing Firaxis for support, you're emailing Infogrames. I posted a rather lengthy thread on CivFanatics about this last night. I won't rehash it all here, but the general point was that Infogrames is your support contact for Civ III. They're set up to handle the thousands and thousands of support inquiries and questions, we, as a small company of about 30 people, are not.
And no, this doesn't mean we don't care or that we're somehow trying to pass something off on Infogrames that we should be dealing with ourselves: it's part of the contract, it's their responsibility to handle support.
We do the best we can to answer all the emails that come in to us, some of which are general questions, and some of which are real support issues, but Infogrames are the organization you should be contacting for support.
And FYI, I check the various email boxes every day; frequently there are more than 400 messages in them. I respond to as many as I can on a daily basis but there is no way I can get to them all (though not for lack of trying).

Thanks Dan, we appreciate your attempt(s) to give us information and keep us updated. Can I suggest more public messages like this one, it might be alot easier than replying to 400. Just read through the majority, and post ONE message. You will save yourself alot of time. Thanks.
Charles.

Indeed. While there might be a thousand complaints/reports, these will typically distill down to a few topical groups. Shuffle the support issues off to Infogrames, and then answer the others in a thread dedicated to Firaxis answering questions.
If you get seventy questions dealing with how boring the game is, you needn't post seventy responses. Just post one that explains what y'all intend to do about it.
