Hey, who's got the turn? I'm going to be around through Wednesday, then gone until 12/28. Hope the turn makes it by then!

I have played my turn but I understand that we may need a replacement for Deimos.
So I still have the saved game.

We need to advertise for a replacement, but I don't know how many have given up on these forums (I almost did)
Meanwhile you could send the turn to our CMN to play just to keep it going (DiliDad, I believe - who should also post fopr a replacement player)

I also almost gave up on these forums, but with their return, we should be able to keep closer track of the location of the turn

Several people have made a strong case for moving to CGN... I know I would rather be there.
Game forwarded to DD.

I'm interested in taking over as a replacement if you'd like. Qantaga let me know there might be a position here.

Sounds good to me. Game forwarded to our newest roleplayer: H0bbes.
You may want to check out the thread on our discussion of the rules. In a nutshell: you must SE to your factions agenda as soon as possible. You must go to war with factions running your aversion. Submissive pactmates are permitted. Bonus marks for additions to our story thread.

Colonel Hobbes is now CinC of the Spartan Federation following a bloodless coup. Immediate changes to priorities have been made and a new long-range plan formulated and given priority.
Turned to Sister Googlie.
Is the story thread active? If so, where is it?

Immediate changes to priorities have been made...
|
Changing priorities is fine. Er...as long as they are not research priorities. We are restricted to our role-playing research priorities (double blind).
Turn sent on to H0bbes.

Let me make sure that I am researching in the spirit of the game. It has been my (likely incorrect) understanding that double blind was either no research priorities selected or all four research priorities selected in a blind research game (not pursuing any specific research priority).
Since I am playing Zak in this game and his priority is Discover, I have set my research priority to only Discover.
Is this correct, or should I switch my priorities around?

Yes I understand about the research priorities.
No, it was more like: "Researching the Weather Paradigm? What were you thinking? Tying up valuable resources in order to grow lettuce faster? That's it, your command is up."
...
All communications to the Spartan Federation may now be directed to the new CinC: Colonel Hobbes.

Research priorities should be your faction's priorities (e.g - Gaian: explore, PK: explore/discover, etc). This was done to keep the faction 'flavor' as much as possible. Hopefully this didn't get garbled somewhere...

Thanks Hydro!
I just wanted to make sure I was playing by the spirit of the game. I have had Zak's research set to Discover since planetfall.

2123 to Tau Ceti
(and I have had the Believers' set to *run for your lives* as an incessant stream of mindworms chase every colony pod and scout across Hell's (well, Chiron's, actually) half acre
That's one reason I haven't posted anything to the Tales yet - there's only so many times one could say "ran to escape a mindworm" before a reader shut it out (and also why I have so few pop compared to everyone else - they're all in transit huddling in fear)

G,
Well, I am certainly not running from those cute, frisky little mindworms - I just have the WORST territory I've seen on DD's map. Ack! I can pity your Believers, though, since we at least have had formers for a while now.

There are quite a lot of worms over here too. But no serious casualties yet.
