Sid Meier's Civilization III?
I thought it was just going to be Civilization III no Sid Meier's. All the press releases and stuff now say Sid Meier's Civilization III and that bothers me but I'm not sure why. Anyone care to inform me about the change.

SID MEIER'S civilization iii (notice which is capitalized).
that's so all of his games are listed together in an alphabetical list.
he would also like us to refer to Civ 2 as "SMc2" in our forums, and AC as "SMac", and so on.
in reality, I don't care. I'll just call it civ 3, whatever they end up overtitling it with.

I call civ3 civ3. But remember, in the end, Sid is still designing it!

I think it was to be the same as with "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri - A Brian Reynolds Design" at first, but then Reynolds decided to leave Firaxis and Sid Meier took over the development.
But I think, however, that it was always to be released as SID MEIER's Civ3 because this term sounds to much gamers like some sort of quality sign, no matter how much **** he will produce in the future ;-) :-))

You never know when Mr Meier might be watching. Big Brother But seriously I would rather have a box that says Civilization 3 without his name. It ruins the mood and excitement. Ya think Return to Castle Wolfenstein is going to be called, Adrian Carmack's Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Well it might be but you get my drift.

This is totally unrelated - but Markus, there's an 'edit' option so there's no need to do double posts.

MicroProse and Firaxis Games are working on this project together. MPS retains the copyright holdings to the name "Civilization", while Firaxis has Sid and much of the 'ol Civ team on theirs.
Thus, both elements are in the title.
