Global culture
Okay I have a few questions about global culture. As you may know the global cultures are as follows:
Americans - Americans, Aztecs, Iriquois
Asian - Chinese, Indian, Japanese
European - English, French, German, Russians
Mediterranean - Egyptians, Greeks, Romans
Mid East - Babyloninas, Persians, Zulus

Okay so why is it that sometimes in a republic and/or monarchy my people get happier if I start a war with another civ from different global culture? But over time they eventually get war weary and dissent? Anyone have any kind of idea or documentation of why my cities would go into WLTK days when I start a war with someone?

Well, on page 125 of the manual it explains that if a rival declares war on you it can actually decrease war weariness due to relieved tension or something. Perhaps it also goes for you declaring war on someone. If you're looking for a real-life correlation perhaps think of the initial unification behind a common goal like a war...at first.

I've been in a democracy, had a rival culture declare war on me, and almost every city I own goes into We Love The King Day instantly!

(I was not at war before this happened).

Perhaps War Weariness can have a negative value (i.e. increase your smiley faces) when a foreign culture first declares war on you, and it then creeps back towards hurting you?

Strange.

well that can be easily explained:

when war start your populace is excited about kicking someones butt. But when the casualties start rolling in, the populace starts to wonder whether kicking someones butt is worth it. Hence, war weariness.
