Request a new game.
Okay people, I want to play in a new PBEM game. There is something you should know before we begin. I'm going to be playing on my iMac. (This Cross-platform thing better work.) I will e-mail googlie shortly, but I'm not setting up because I'm new.

Heah wgabrie,
tried several times this morning to contact you regarding this, but kept getting "server busy" messages, so if my response pops up several times, its not because I have multiple personalities and their all trying to contact you! O.K., I'm in, if your still looking for players. Sure hope the x-platform system works, too!
As far as setting up is concerned: I'm pretty new myself, but push come to shove, I'll give it a shot. However, if someone else signs up to play in this game who has set up games before, that would be preferable.
I've got a cable modem, so I'm pretty much on-line all the time, and I'm looking for a high daily turn rate. Hope your the same!
My E-Mail address is: dnandal@twcny.rr.com. Look forward to hearing from you.
Darsnan

Well, I'm in.
I'd advise a game Googlie set up, those are really good ones.
Make sure Googlie has your email, eitehr by sending it, or by posting it here.
Are we playing SMAC or SMACX?
I'd recomend 4 is a good number of players, average planet.
I prefer lal, but can also play yang or domai.
I'm indra@blacksunrise.com
and I have DSL, so I'm online all the dratted time too.

Heah Black Sunrise,
glad you want in! I've been follwing some of your other games, and I have to say "you rule!" As you are already aware, why I have green tendencies, and so prefer Gaians, however I don't mind getting stuck with any faction, save the Pirates. I prefer SMAX, but don't mind playing SMAC.
Hope to see you on Planet soon!

Cool! I'm also on a cable modem so am on all the time, or at least my computer is on when I'm not. I don't care which game we play, but if we don't want any crossfire factions or extras we might as well use plain SMAC. I don't realy care which faction I'll use. I'll pick the faction from whatever is left after everyone else chooses.

Hi!
I would like to join you, if you're going for SMAC! (I don't have SMAX).
My address is spasm@xnet.ro and I would like to play the UN Peacekeepers or, if they are taken, the Hive.

Okay, we have four players. The game is SMAC. The factions are as follows:
Gaians: Darsnan dnandal@twcny.rr.com
Hive: SPasmofiT spasm@xnet.ro
Morgan: wgabrie wgabrie@yahoo.com
Peacekeepers: Black Sunrise indra@blacksunrise.com
All we need are the game settings and we can start.

Hey y'all
Finally able to raise 'Poly and get to the boards.
Are you OK wityh starting it yourselves, or would you like the game CMN'd with the usual accelerated start (3 colony pods and 3 scouts) to take some of the monotony out of the first ten turns or so?
And if so, would you like Zak, Miriam and Santiago to be a reasonable early challenge, or pushovers?
With 4 players you'll need to make a decision re co-op victory - on or off (3 can transcend together with co-op on)
Minuses to having it on are that a game can sometimes become a 3 vs 1, which leaves a bitter taste in the loners mouth.
OTOH, without it you lose some of the benefits of a good 2 vs 2 game (or you get it with a llast minute backstabbing by the one that's been entrusted with the Ascent)
I'm willing to CMN if you want it.
Googlie

My vote:
Googlie set up: yes
AI pushover: Unite the AI, 2 submissive to the 3rd.
Co-op on: off
accelerated start: Since Googlie usually gives more than standard starting units, I'd say off. Doesn't really matter, though.

SUmmary:
Googlie set up:
yes - 4
no - 0
don't care - 0
AI pushover:
yes - 2
no - 0
don't care - 2
cop-op:
yes - 1
no - 1
don't care - 2
accelerated:
yes - 2
no - 1
don't care - 1
So, we have:
googlie setup => YES!
AI pushover => YES!
cop-op => TIDE!
accelerated => YES!

Am currently playtesting
The AI isn't exactly a pushover, but it's peaceful and will negotiate and share techs, etc (But it's difficult having a "peaceful" Miriam and Santiago)
One last question .....
What do you want the game to be called in the turn-reporting thread?
G.
