Well after driving everyone nuts with my complaining I tried downloading the patch for the 3rd time. I am no longer experiencing crashes with the patch.

I am using the patch with Korn's Biltz mod (The best mod out there!)
What I notice is that the CPU is much more aggressive then in the past. Seems they build cities a lot faster or maybe it is just me. At any rate if anyone is still having MAJOR problems with patch download again. You might want to try uninstalling game and reinstalling it.
Still quite a few issues with the game but now it is just polishing. I still do not like how it looks and feels like Call To Power instead of a Sid civ series game. Just my opinion which is not worth much!
