Does anyone still play Civ II?
Does anyone still actually play Civ II? It is really cute to think there are still some diehard fans plugging away out there. To me, Civ II is almost a retro game now, kind of like playing Donkey Kong original.

Civ II... No, It's no longer on my computer.
But Civ Gold MPE... I play it at least twice a week, and sometimes, even more.
It's still a great game!
I can't wait for Civ III!

One might ask why are you here, Bkeela?
Yes, I play Civ2 (I have C:CtP, but have only played it twice) good old fashioned v2.42

I must admit I do still enjoy playing the Mars senario. But it does get tiresome not being able to stack production orders.
I also bought Test Of Time, but was pretty dissapointed. My main gripe is that the multi-leveling tends to get very tedious, and I sincerely hope it isn't implemented in Civ III.

Does anyone still play Civ2?!? OF COURSE! That is the one, and only game that is guaranteed permanent residence on my hard drive. It's something that you can keep going back to - absolutely the best game ever.

Of course~!... Got the scenarios (conflicts in civ) and FW loaded on top ... but hey its still Civ II. Havent tried either CtP or ToT yet but may in the future. It sounded like from the reviews of CtP that that version addressed some of the more tedious aspects of the game (I tend to build massive amounts of cities - sometimes over 100 - which makes city management ultra tedious - heck one game can last a month)
So the short answer is again... Civ II stays on the hard drive... maybe for a very long time.

I aquired Civ years ago and it was one of my favourite games... I played it a lot with pauses but I was slowly fed up with it. Later I regretted that I deleted it. Now I have bought ToT and I am going to make a modpack for it...

Still play civII? I'm still fairly new to the game, but I can't see it coming off my hard drive anytime soon. I learn something everytime I play, sp or mp. I started on the playstation version, and I must say, it was civII that convinced me to buy a computer in the first place. Now if I could only find someone that doesn't play 2x2x games on the zone...

Haven't played a full game for at least 2 years. I'm trying to remember when I bought the thing. 97 I believe. It was shelved about 6 months after I purchased it. Just installed it back in August after I bought TOT. Now just for scenario creation.

I had civ2 from the start, but when I bought FW and ToT a while ago, I found that I wasn't so interested anymore in the game...
Now, I hope that civ3 will provide something new.
Well, it probably will

Of course there are still Civ2 players around. It's the best TB game I've ever played and I think it will be very hard for the creators to make Civ3 better. But I'm sure they will manage to do it.
I'm currently playing OCC which is much fun to do. Haven't reached the highest levels yet, for I haven't perfected my strategy. But I keep on improving.
GREAT FUN this game

Even though I've known about Civ since the beginning, I didn't get around to start playing it until a year ago when I bought MGE. Needless to say, after 12 years of gaming and hundreds of games, it is my favorite and imo, the best strategy game of all time. Had no interest in CtP, SMAC, ToT because of their sci-fi/fantasy setting which has no appeal to me whatsoever. Really hoping that Civ III will incorporate some of the advanced tech modeling BUT down at earth starting at 4000BC.

I like the above started playing civ two in April or so of 98, so i was a late bloomer as well, just before Christmas i got the MGE version and now it is the only one installed on my hardrive, i have the clones too
This game is unreal and i think the site only adds to its role in the whole civ 2 experience. Sure there are flaws but its still #1 after all this time and that is something i cannot say about any other game
i have played
As for civ 3, better ai, little upgrade on the graphics, easy interface, and a few of the clone ideas but surely not ALL ,as that would ruin the experience. A couple of things from civ 1 and TBS, not RTS and i think i will be a happy gamer, but please don't give me SMAC, TOT, or CTP! Surely something superior will come along
