No, the game only stops counting your points for your score at 2050, but you can still continue to play after that. You should get an option asking if you want to continue to play or not, obviously click 'yes'. The only time you are not allowed to continue to play in the game is when only one civilization is left, meaning that all of the civilizations have been destroyed except for one, or when your civilization is destroyed. Hopefully that clears everything up for you.
