Cleanup Begins
The French government has begun the cleanup of the polluted Rhineland using civil engineers borrowed from the Italians. Spokespeople for the effort say that they are satisfied with progress, and optimistic that the pollution will be virtually eradicated within months. In order to aid this initiative, the Steel Works in Munich have been closed for the duration of the emergency.

Wow, I was reading some of these recent posts and found it odd that Russia had German cities, so I look back and see I missed the whole war on this thread. It kinda reminds me of the PBEM that I'm in... Only I didn't use such a stupid excuse as you guys did. lol No, I prefere spitwads than a demanding AI. Still, you guys are going really fast, you're almost up to the first AoW PBEM. Looks like we'll have to hurry things up.
Could you guys post another map? I love maps.

La Palma Secured
Following a bombardment by the French Fleet, Italian soldiers have secured the Spanish stronghold of La Palma. After accepting the surrender of the few surviving Spanish soldiers the Italian troops pulled out of the city to make way for the expected French garrison.
Rail Road By-Pass Project Continues
The Italian government has continued work on it's share of the international rail road by-pass project. Extra tracks have been built around Turin, Milan and Bologna. When offically opened next month these by-passes will enable foreign goods to travel between Paris and Rome in a matter of days!

Short Break...
Sorry guys, but from tomorrow evening I won't have access to a computer till Monday evening next week!!
So, if my turn comes before, IF you really can't wait until I come back, just let the AI play it...
But of course I would prefer to play it myself as soon as I come back!!!
So, if you have to wait because of it, sorry... (well, actually I'm not THAT sorry, because I'm off to Scotland to taste a few whiskies and pints of bitter... )

Rail Road Construction Continues
Work on Italy's ambitious program of rail road construction has moved into it's next phase. The Italian government has anounced that by-passes of all major cities west of Venice are now complete and are open to international trade. Work has now moved onto improving the State of the railroads in Italy's Balkan provinces. It is beleived that a Trieste to Skopje railroad is a priority in this new stage of construction.
Britain Hands New Merchant Ship to Italy
In a gesture of good will, Britain has donated a Merchant ship, the SS Channel Trader to Italy. The Italian government plans to station the ship in the English channel so that it can carry Italian trade goods from the French coast to the British coast.
It is understood that Italian merchants have already begun to sockpile valuable goods in expectation of this lucrative opportunity.

Spanish Campaign nears conclusion
The long and arduous battle against General AI is nearing its end, as Second Army elements jumped off this week in what analysts believe will be the final great offensive of the campaign.
Troops under General Joyeuse have swept down into the Duero River basin, clearing the area of any fascist troops and capturing the city of Valladolid in a model attack with virtually no French casualties. These last defenders of General AI are obviously demoralised, as well as in need of supplies and rations, and are hardly a match for the well-organised and provisioned troops of the Second Army. Soon the General will have no more soldiers to hide behind.
Rhineland almost spotless
The cleanup of pollution in the Rhineland province is also nearly complete, with only some areas in the Alps requiring the attention of the civil engineers loaned by Italy. Scientists are currently hard at work devising solutions that will ensure that such pollution will never menace the environment again.

Fritz, that thing I emailed you about isn't urgent so you may as well play your turn (well the tech part of it is, but that can probably be done in a single player situation)
