Okay, I dl'ed, I'll wait until tomorrow to play because
1) I'm tired
2) I'll give everyone a chance to voice any objections for any reason
Also, I guess I should know whether fritz's password is known by anyone?

I need the password for the previous turn in order to remove the passwords.
Or does anyone have objections if I do it? We can always have someone else do it...

Just so you know, you can remove the password without loading as Italy (you can use any civ) but you have to use cheat mode to change to Italy. Since cheat mode is already embedded in this file from making Germany, should me or ANZAC just do this?

fine, you can do it darius. You seem to know what you want to do, versus me who would try to be following it.

An excellent Idea! The only thing is that I am leaving on a 9 day trip starting friday afternoon, (will be back the 30th) but If I play before I leave there is a chance that my turn won't come up again until I get back.
It would be nice to know what's been going on too, who holds a blood feud with France, who I'm allied with and special treaties and the like.

Welcome aboard H
AFAIK, France is allied with Italy and Britain and isn't really in a blood feud with anyone, though relations with Russia are delicate.

Primier winterfritz is on vacation!
In his place one of his minions stood up and took the reigns of power. The junior staffer's rise to power came as quite a suprise to obervers in France, little is known about him or his policies. His only words to the press were, "I'm going to work 20 hours a day and bring this country forward with my bare hands and strong back. France will become a European power to be respected by all."
Darius clued me in on a bunch of stuff I didn't know about earlier, so if something seems terribly amiss, blame him

It feels good to re-discover a country in which so much time (and efforts) have been invested!!
Trade goes on, with some new links established to London and Paris!
The Turkish Engineer Corps is working hard too!
And the save:

I want to keep it up also, but over the next week or so, the times I'll be able to play will be sporadic, so this is just a heads up, but I'll do my best.
Also, could someone post a map, it's been a long time since we've had one in this game I think

La Reppublica
Italy-France RR Closed
The Italy to France rail line has been closed so that Italian engineers may make good the enviromental degradation casued by the heavy traffic on the line. Rail Italia expects to have the line back to normal next month.
--------------
Kirk, would it help if you were sent a PM each time your turn comes up?

Well it's just basically that I'll be busy and may not have regular access to my computer with Civ2 on it, I'm doing some landscaping, starting a new job and looking for a new roommate, and it's my spring break, so it's just a hectic time, but it should be back to normal, and I'm not actually sure how much all this will interfere, it's just a warning, like I said

As much as I would like this game to retain its new found pace, I understand that RL (sometimes) needs to take the 1st place (might I get banned for saying so?? ).
And James: no worries, and thanks for warning us!! no sweat, mate!
Case: do you mean I won't be able to deliver my freight to France next turn? Hm, sad news... But maybe it's time to start looking for new markets: how is the weather in Rome??
