And would anyone mind if I killed off Spain?

Winterfritz was keeping the Spanish alive in case we ever wanted to reuse the Civ.

Well actually that doesn't matter at this point since we know we can add a killed-off civ. I'll email you in the near future, H Tower

playing a Yugoslavia type civ (see the first Age of War pbem game) at the mercy of all others is kind of cool. you survive only because of the pity of the nations around you.

Yep, it's cool! It was the situation Turkey was in for the first few years! I'm glad it's over, though...

Turkish News
Many improvements and freight trucks were rushbuilt this year!
Our traders were disappointed to see that there was no bypass allowing to reach Moscow from Istanbul...
With an approval rating of 78%, the Turkish Democracy still shows the highest satisfaction rate by the population!
And the Turkish scientists will come with a really nice development next year...
BTW Darius: the file was ok!
And the save:

France Would appreciate the English heavy artillery blocking the railroad to please move off of the only railroad route connecting Conquered Spain and France soon please. And now that the oversight of zero rail bypasses in Spain has been identified, their construction will begin soon.
Diplomatic communication is desired by France with England, Italy, and Germany to discuss matters involving French borders, conquered Spain, railroad development and local trade agreements. Not to slight Russia or Turkey, France would love to chew the fat with their leaders as well, but pressing matters closer to home demand the Premier's attention.
Also, what do you guys think about creating a Yugoslavian nation using the Spanish civ? I'd love to have the challenge of making her into a decent nation once WinterFritz comes back

Russia would not like to give anymore prized land up to foreign influences after sacrificing so much to reconstitute Germany. Russia is the protector of the Slavs and defender of the Eastern Orthodoxy. However, Russia would be open to proposals on Jugoslavia in order to help along the diplomatic relations of Europe

I've heard little tidbits about this reconstituting germany thing but i know almost nothing about it besides that France is supposed to give cities back eventually, or something

No worries. I was going to give you a large donation next turn anyway.

more internal improvements made.
A proposal to the UK and France: the Russian Confederacy plans to immediately, upon Germany's assent, to repatriate Salzburg, Linz, and Prague back to the Germans. The Confederacy feels Germany has made major strides in being a peaceful member of Europe and should be duly rewarded. In a sign of goodwill, we ask France to cede Regensburg and their choice of either Nuremburg or Munich. We ask Britain to cede Lubeck and their choice of either Hamburg or Kiel. These choices were made based on proximity to Germany and the fact each nation's cession would equal about 20 population units. We ask all the nations involved to give a prompt and hopefully affirmative response.
Also in the news, Konigsburg has been renamed to Kaliningrad.

La Repubblica
A shipment of gold from Rome has arrived in Brest-Livorsk. The Italian merchants are reported to be extreamly pleased with the Russian rail network, and are currently planing new trade ventures in Russia.

On that note, the Russian Minister of the Interior would like to apologize to any nations trading if rail service is interupted by agricultural and industrial development. If so, we direct them to bypass rail and road in the vicinity or, if they so wish, to wait 2 months until the workers move. Thank you.
The Russian Foreign Minister Alexei Gorgorov would like to hear the reactions of the UK and France to this recent repatriation proposal....
