ThThat Make ings Civ3 Suck
-massive waiting time between turns
-fact that the rivals are cheating and are much better than you
-the game lies to you
-the annoying barbarians that know exactly where to go
-the annoying barbariands that horde your brand new towns
everything else rules!!!:

Everything else rules?
Useless colonies, cavalry too strong, phalanx beeting tanks, bombarding useless, no stacking, all what is flying useless, warrior destroying improvements better than a bomber, spying useless even if it is common in world, a poor editor, retrograded tech tree and retrograded government system.

It's better than anything I could program, and for forty bucks, it's provided ample amusement for my gaming dollar. Of course it's not perfect, and it won't make everyone happy, but all-in-all, it's not bad.

That would all be your opinion based on how you rate things. I personally think your very wrong and that your opinion is squat(my opinion). Your a very negative person! You ever see Shrek? Go watch Shrek, its happy, not negative.
Negative people are always so sad, so stop being negative and just smile and nod. Civ3 is one of the best computer games I own and I leave it at that, instead of nitpicking for things to whine about on forums.
P.S. Computer speed really can change waiting time, later in the game on my 1.4 ghz athlon it only takes about 20 seconds on a large map with 16 civs for the comp to think!

Everyone has an opinion. Everyone should be respectful to everyone else.
I smile and nod happily as I express my opinion that Civ3 is not as good as I expected.
Hobbits should not interfer in the affairs of wizards, for they are quick to anger and just might burn the hair off your weeny feet.

um....
I might be worried if I had angered a wizard, but not one of you pathetic big people! I don't think any game could live up to the expectations some of you people had for Civ3.
The only problem I know if in Civ3 that isn't based on opinion and gameplay is that the computer constantly walks through your territory to wherever it wants to go while refusing to leave it says it will leave soon until its where it wants to be.

Just out of curiosity, why would someone who doesn't like Civ3 spend their whole day on a Civ3 forum?
I mean, I don't really like cricket, but I don't spend my whole day on the cricket forum blasting them for their stupid game design. I would rather spend my time playing Civ3, which I do like, or making a snowman.

Me, I, uh, prefer wrestling giant snow beetles than wasting time in the forum. Say a few comments, say what you need and find the exit. Life begins after CIV III, oh and by the way with the plethora of problems that do plague the game, it is my hope that it will be polished in an expansion (yes, yes I know). But darnit, it's CIV III and it is growing on me. I am enjoying it... when, I'm not wrestling giant snow beetles.

I'm a negative person? Assumption based on about nothing. Only on "u say that civ III isn't what it should". So every person thinking that Civ III isn't what it should is a "negative person"?... Give arguments or what you say is without any sense. You didn't ave any argument against my previous thread, but I'll be happy to read them

Hey, I like the Barbarians, I always set mine to Raging. I'm sure my Scouts aren't to happy about that, but to bad. At least they never really destroy your city, unlike previous versions.

Ahhh, but it's so much more fun for us to make outrageous statements about my army of 5 elite modern armor fortified on a mountain being wiped out by a conscript warrior.
but when you ask us to back these statements up? that's another story.

I wish to apologize to all cricket lovers worldwide. I didn't mean to say their game was stupid, or even silly. What I really meant to say was that is wasn't "my cup of tea."
Thank you.

Odd. Usage of the phrase "my cup of tea" is usually a good indicator of whether or not the person in question is a cricket lover or not.

It is a particular kind of fallacy. You can understand why patience might not be a virtue once you've been given the necessary key element.

Oh, I see! It's a secret!
It sure seems to me that your answers are more vague than Firaxis.
But of course since nobody else is as smart as you (except Yin) how could we understand?

But you do understand. You identified the key element yourself.

[spelling it out]If something must be done, then patience is not a virtue.[/spelling it out]
evidence #1 - patience will never educate the ignorant or willfully contrite, as you so aptly pointed out.

why is that relevant to civ3 MP? just because the initial release of civ2 didn't have MP, does that mean that civ3 shouldn't have MP too?
oh yeah, civ3 also sucks due to the lack of scenario support
