A destroyed civilization still alive
I have destroyed a civilization, there is only one ship left. Ship that is not seen by the military advisor.
( I am in 2000, I see the whole map).
There are no cities, but the civilization is still alive. Most interesting phenomenon. It is been going on for the last 100 turns.

"And from a single ship
So shall the wrath
Of the tortured generations
The trodden aspirations
Rise from the sea in a swell
Drowning your empire to hell."

Interesting, I just had a strange ship thing occur to me today. I was attacking a Persian coastal city. I took out the two musketmen defenders with cavalry and a 1 health caravel appeared for what I expect would be the sinking animation, followed by me taking the town. Instead, the ship now appeared as the top defender and my unit did not take the city. The next turn the ship left the town as a galleon . Once this happened, the town was empty and I took it freely. Kind of strange.

About the original post;
it's been discussed before, that if the civ has a settler in a boat, they can sail around for as long as they please even if the actual civilization has been destroyed. If there isn't any unoccupied land in the world, they'll sail around for eternity I suppose. I should say that I haven't seen this bug myself, but if it were to happen I'd suggest the player reload in good time before the last city is planned to fall. Build an offensive ship and set sail for their coast to take out anyone trying to escape. Build several ships if you can, of course they'll always be useful afterwards.

Someone was writing about watching a Settler after the maximum cities limit was reached going through a loop and just repeating the same actions over and over again. It would be hilarious to see that.

I posted that one, actually :) In the 1.16f bugs list at the top. I was sitting in the living room waiting for the turn to begin when I heard that strange sound, over and over again. I thought, man are they capturing dozens of workers? Then I saw that settler beating his backpack on the ground, over and over... you think he went mental? ;)
