Do you have citizen things as well as government officials? I'm good at listening to campaign promises but I don't know much about how to run a Civilization 2 state.

It's quite simple and logical the reason they come here: - Everybody loves bananas
- Everybody loves me
- I advertise about bananas in my signature to this forum
- They all run to here with curiosity!

So do I have to register or something to become a citizen, or do I just come in once in a while and vote on things?

I think that it is only important that you have Civ2 if you are a cabinet member.
So we you join!

Well, you could nominate yourself to become the President or an advisor - ie actually play the game or make hearty recommendations to the Prez about what to research, build, attack etc. Or just post in all the threads with your views and vote whenever there is some kind of thing to be voted on.
Welcome. You may never leave... (Like me. )

But you need a copy of Civ II MGE to hold office, I believe. You don't need one to be a citizen.

Curse you shade. (In a nice way, though. ) You don't have time to be mucking around in this thread!
Shouldn't you be off governing, finishing off your legendary term as President?
Is this what we want, a President who starts to slack off at the end of his term? And do we want this selfsame to be Trade Advisor in the next term???

I am eagerly waiting for my cabinet to report so I can be president...you wouldn't want me to rule without the orders of the ppl, to govern our little empire and neglect the wishes of the citizens...I have to wait so I can do what is truely best for the empire.

If the ellection-polls hadn't start so early, and suggested to start the new term the 28(and after discussion 29..1...3...30...???)I would even have suggested to squeeze in 2 playruns(in the 10 days left) instead of one in the at least 7 days.
*end propagandistic part*
--> as you can see the only thing on my mind is our wellfare:vote for me as your new trade-advisor.
*hands out more golden pens with royal inscription *

*accepts one of the golden pens*
*looks at it*
*pulls out a magnifying glass, and peers at the pen for a minute*
Hrmm... Why does it say "The holder of this pen, by using the ink contained herein, affirms that he or she is the Property of President Shade and confers all rational decision-making power to President Shade" in really tiny letters on this pen? Is President Shade trying to make the pen truly mightier than the sword? Tune in next time to find out!
