Any way to reveal the map in Civ III?
Frankly, I'm tired of continually getting stuck with suck ass postions while the computer gets grade-A ones. I find myself running into other civs within a few turns with no room for expansion. Some of you may enjoy this, but it's not much fun for me, so are there any ways to reveal the map to see where my competition is and to see if my starting position is acceptable?

In the files forum there are my CopyTool (the save editor in it) that both can reveal the map and exort it as a bic (viewable in the editor (you can see where resources will be))
There is also Civ3Breed that can reveal tme map IIRC.

Save the game and retire. You'll see the whole map on the replay.
Granted, it's hard to tell terrain with that minimap, but it's something, isn't it?
Note that this is pretty clearly a cheat. But if you're that fed up with it, go ahead and try it. If nothing else it'll tell you if you're surrounded and screwed.

One thing you can do. In the Editor is a setting that lets you determine the minimum distance between Civs. If you increase it, you won't be as likely to bump into one so quickly. It's on the World Sizes page.

Thanks for the suggestions - I found a map reveal over at CivFanatics. It's a bit cumbersome, but it works.
