Grrrrrr...I HATE that bug! Just figures it would be Ironholm, too, and not someplace much more deserving...say, UN HQ.

Hello everyone! It seems that your game has been filled with fireworks.
I see that you are starting up an AHAC2. I would like to offer my services in one of two ways:
1. I would like to play if you find that you need a seventh player.
-or-
2. I would be happy to serve as CMN for AHAC2. As I think you all are aware, all I did for this game was hold the passwords. One of the players, Darsnan I believe, randomly created the map and sent it on around. If you desire, I could set up a map for you that is a little more balanced than a random map.

Hiya Q! I'd be glad to have you in either capacity. A more balanced start sounds wonderful. hehe
No idea if all seven of us are in for round two or not.
Gentlemen?

And we MUST have a balanaced map this time! No YANG in the JUNGLE please.
ANYWAYS, Chairman Yang, I know we are pact mates, but please remove your units from my terriotry, unless you have a valid reason for it.
Turn to aborman.

Comstr, you're relatively safe as long s the Hive units ARE in your territory. Were JPJ to attack you, he would first have to break the pact which would repatriate his units before they could attack. OTOH, if his units are stacked up on the border...

My apologies CEO, it is merely a scout patrol which wandered into an alien psi-gate, teleported halfway across the planet and landed in a pit of mindworms. The bewilderded unit is simply trying to get back to base to rest (The worst they could do is pillage some of your farms - but they aren't that hungry!).

UN Forces have begun the final assault on Ironholm. All combatants have been eliminated. Base is garrisoned now by a single former.
UN is now at war with the misguided Gaians, who not only continue to resist the Dark Lord, but foolishly attempted to interfere with the just retribution being visited upon the Spartans. Sadly, Brother Radman declared war on the UN in misguided support of his ally. So be it.
We must discuss the obliteration of the base of Ironholm. (and the attendent elimination of the Spartans) Unless immediate reinforcements are available, either Spartan, Gaian or Believing, I believe my two adjacent impact units make its fall inevitable. Problem is twofold. First, I won't get to keep the base 'cause of the end of game bug. Bummer! I need one to replace the base Arborman destroyed. However, and more importantly, it seems I destroyed all the units that might have performeds the obliteration.
I suggest the following: The former in the base to be disbanded in buildiing a scout patrol, which will obliterate the base in the Spartan 2138 turn.
Thoughts or other suggestions?
Of course, if Believing reinforcements just happen to be in the fungus next to the base, and either garrison it anew or destroy my besieging forces, obliteration and elimination won't be necessary.
Finally, guess where the missing AA ended up...UN HQ lol. Some compensation for he base I won't get.
oh. BTW...2137 to Darsnan.

The forces of Lord Darsnan have retaken Gaia's Landing! Although a temporary measure at best, why it is better to meet my fate in familiar surroundings.
I retire to my study now, the sound of the Hive's counterattack growing ever closer......
Turn to Chairman Yang!
OOC: well, in addition to the Spartans probably going belly up, why the Gaians will cease to exist after this turn, as well. JOHNPAULJONES: leave me one garrison in whichever city you decide to spare in your onslaught, and I will then perform the ritual of hari kari the following turn. As far as the game was concerned: well done, well played johnpauljones!
Darsnan

Gaia's Landing re-captured and obliterated.
Silverbird Park captured.
The Gaian faction has been eliminated (Lord Darsnan and his henchmen have escaped in a colony pod)
I was fairly confident that the game was set up with the 'Do or Die' option turned off - this confirms it. I don't think disbanding your escape pod or obliterating a base is going to work. The only other options i can think of is to turn control over to the AI or to simply play on, either of which is fine with me.
It looks like the U.N.'s efforts to slay their mortal enemy may just be again thwarted by a stroke of fate. The Spartans have almost completed a recon rover which could conceivably destroy the attackers. Ironholm is now also under siege by a single mindworm !
...and in other nooz:
The Chairman would like to express his irritation over recent land-grabbing by the Randian Corporation. The settlers at Morgan Distribution have cut off three thousand square kilometres of nutrient-rich real estate from the Hive homeland. The Hive is willing to overlook this indiscretion only because the C.E.O has been and remains a useful ally.
2137 to Knowhow2

Lovely, on all counts. And whose idea was do or die off? Kriminy!
Just thought of something, though. If I don't get wasted by reinforcements, I might get to KEEP Ironholm! Yum!!

'38 making it's way through the ether to Knowhow2...
Wanted:
Lord Darsnan for crimes against the Hive & it's allies.
Whereabouts unknown
Anyone volunteering information leading to a succesful arrest will be rewarded with the Chairman/Planetary Governor's gratitude.
2137 saw another string of sucessfull campaigns by the Hive to rid Chiron of the rogue factions which threaten the overall peace & security of Planet. 6 battles won : 0 lost, including a heroic stand by the defenders of Paradise Swarming who sucessfully repelled a suicidal attack by 2 Believer reconaissance rovers.
The struggle continues...
