Sounds like fun to me...
However, you (we, whatever) would have to get some of the regular posters back here to play. The pickings on the civ 2 page are pretty sparse since civ 3 has come out.

I'm in, but how will the game itself be handled here? Is it on one persons comp, with screenshots of every turn, and battle summarys or is it a PBEM type, with everybody getting a look?

I volunteer to lead the semi-political left-wing environmental pressure group that'll be constantly pissing off the nasty polluting government.

"Quickie

In the civfanatic version, the voted for President for about 30 days played the game, but the leader for example military will put up polls for the military area for that time in the game or further forward. And the President has to go by the results of the polls, or he will be impeached (or whatever the phrase is).
"Immortal Wombat - I volunteer to lead the semi-political left-wing environmental pressure group that'll be constantly pissing off the nasty polluting government."
In civfanatic version there are groups like our semi-political left-wing environment pressure group, but not at the moment political parties as such.
Can I request to MarkG to have the democractic game as it is own forum.
From DarkCloud
"I'd gladly set up polls But you'd probably not wnat me since I will not be able to download the game But I could do odd jobs if you really need me "
You do not have to run for President. And if you are not a president you do not have to download the game. In fact in CivFanactics Democracy Games it is against the rules.

I ask for the position of Minister of Research.
Otherwise, do as you wish. Might want to get a little competition started for a name and a flag, as long as this thing lifts off.

Generally around 1300 - 1700 GMT or 2200 - 0200 GMT.
But does that matter? We could simply have a 24 or 36 hour limit to a poll for example.

Arent we going to play Civ3, or at least make a poll to decide what game to play?

I think it could be fun. I need to not play Civ3 all the time (as I tend to get into programming way to often when I do that), so I'm in.
