2194 Days PBEM
I figured it was time for another PBEM round of this classic. The player list so far is as follows:
USSR - seanie_babes@hotmail.com
Japan - m_carreras@hotmail.com
Germany - winterfritz_21@yahoo.com
Neutrals - AI
Americans
British
Chinese - AI
We are using the latest version of 2194 Days, available from the Spanish civ2 site (NOT the version at civfanatics. That is the first one Nemo and Alex ever released.)
Case has created MPevents and a slightly altered scenario file, both included in the attachment below (thank you, Case! ). Just install them into your 2194 Days folder. The .bat file has also been changed, so that multiplayer events is an option. We will be using the Allied Advantage rules.txt file.
Unfortunately, Case is unable to join, so the American player is open. Anyone, feel free to come in and take the US or the Brits. Once we have those two slots filled, we can begin. (The Chinese player could be left to the AI, or alternatively played by the American player.)
Good luck all!

The file is on its way now. Glad you could join. Now we just need a British player.
El Awrence, you can go ahead and start, as the British are fourth in the turn order. I'm sure someone will take them shortly.

The validity of tech exchange...
I find that now that we can negotiate that the issue of tech exchange arrives. Should it be valid to trade techs with your allies? I don't know if it should, but considering that several German submarines with German technology arrived in Japan near the end maybe it should be a possibility. Just a thought.

Pearl Harbour, Pacific Islands and China Fall to Japan
Tokyo.- The Ministry of War reported today that a great victory was achieved over the Americans in the Pacific with the destruction of their pacific fleet that was stationed in Pearl Harbour. The destruction of the American fleet was undertaken by a great number of fighters and bombers launched for a number of aircraft carriers early in December and after an intense attack by air, battleship Yamato approached the island and opened fire on the city and other battleships opened fire on military installations decimating the island garrison and opening the path for an unhindered occupation by Imperial Marines.
Simoultaneously, an attack on Midway Island by the Nihon Kaigun rendered the island defenceless after intense shelling opening the way for Imperial Marines to disembark and occupy without any fear of losses.
Meanwhile, Japan has occupied most of mainland Japan in an outstanding and crushing campaign lead by Imperial Marines and artillery barrages supported by wave after wave of fighter planes.
In the Pacific Islands, the rest have suffered the same fate as Japan now wrests control of the Malay Peninsula, the Phillipines, Borneo and Sarawak, Papua New Guinea and leaves Kuala Lumpur and Padang in chaos.
It seems that the Japanese advance on the Pacific is unstoppable and Japan is coaxing the British to sue for peace lest India and Australia fall to the Japanese military might. Japan has, as it stands, total air and naval supremacy over the Pacific theatre and the seizing of Pearl Harbour and Midway has left the western coast of the United States unprotected and vulnerable to a Japanese attacks. Tokyo has requested the the United States sue for peace now before their might is completely destroyed.

Well Case, I do have one suggestion, but its unrelated to your events file. Since we no longer have to view computer moves, perhaps you could have revealed the map when you altered the scenario file? This would enable players to get a much better look at the course of the war.
A reminder to our loyal viewers: the British slot is open and awaiting one last player

Good idea. I really should have thought of that
Still, if everyone swaps maps with their Allies most areas of significance should be revealed

Nope, Japan isn't at war with the USSR. It's logical, they didn't go to war until 1944/5 correct? I hope that we'll keep it that way, Tovarisch Soundwave...

In my view there should be a limit to the tech exchange and how do you do it? Also i dont wanna see the Japs with Tiger II in the later years, ok?
Ok, for the factory.. how are you gonna slove it, coz if i'm Russians i get the Sherman Tanks, but they have to cost less then the T-34's coz they were inmported, i think there should be an event for that or something!!

From the Ministry of Enlightenment and Propaganda
The invincible armies of the Third Reich continued their unerring advance into the USSR this month. Despite the advent of the terrible Russian winter, our Panzers shattered the puny Bolshevik defenses around the cities of Kalinin and Kharkov, and Werhmacht infantry occupied both towns with few casualties. At this rate Europe will soon be finally safe from the menace of communism.
Also, U-Boats sank a record amount of four allied convoys in the Atlantic this month. The American and British navies could do nothing to save their merchants from our brave and efficient submariners.
Der Führer has warmly congratulated his fellow Japanese dictator on the success of his nation in the Pacific. 'Now perhaps the allied nations will realise the futility of resistance against the unstoppable progress of fascism!' he said at a Nazi rally today.

Newsreel
- In the second battle of Midway Island American ships found and destroyed a Japanese Carrier task force. With minimal losses the US Nazy attacked and destroyed a Japanese Imperial Navy carrier with all planes on board along with its two escort destroyers. Admiral Flechter is qouted as saying "... we caught them with their pants down and bent them over a fuel barrel!" After the original set back of the first battle of Midway, with American carriers arriving too late to help the outcome. This is a serious moral booster and a great step foward in driving back the axis tide to the setting sun.

I just noticed that some of the shield markers are off. You might need to adjust the dots so that they line up right.

I must make a fomal protest at the Sceranio, Case i think, took some units from the Germans like 4 tanks and some SS and stuff, but the thing is The Soviet Union has the bigger miltary of 1941, around 4million against germanys 1.2million even after they invaded, the german tank though better were outnumbered 3.1 (BT-7) so i think it kinda sux, all i have is infantry.. and to be blunt they suck!!

Soundwave:
1. I took something like 20 PZ IV's of the Germans, along with a similar percentage of JU-87's and Waffen SS. While I only slighly beefed up the Soviet millitary, I did improve the Soviet economy (more industry, engineers, etc).
2. Most of the Soviet tank and air force was destroyed by December 1941, when this scenario starts.
3. I did ask for people to have a good look at what I'd done before playing Perhaps the Soviet Union should get some extra help via events...

Desert rats aquire control of Benngazi
It has only been a few weeks since the hun had almost total control of the desert theatre and had our armies by the throat.
Now after some galliant fighting from Brittish, New Zealand and Australian troops who have been nicknamed the desert rats our armies have captured the vital strategic city of Benghazi. "In reward for this great victory and the hard work of all troops fighting to capture Benghazi, I decided to double the rasion of tea" said Feild Marshal Montgomery. In other news Winston Churchill has announced there shall be no surrender under any circumstances and any troops caught retreating shall be shot with exteme predudice.

From the Ministry of Enlightenment and Propoganda
Der Fuehrer today released a statement which described the unimportant loss of Benghazi as 'an insignificant annoyance.'
German High Command is certain that the Afrika Korps will quickly regain the north African city from the decadent British. Indeed, this futile gesture against Nazi might surely represents the last gasp of the British Army in Egypt, and as such is merely a prelude to German occupation of all North Africa.
Reichsmarschal Rommel is quoted as saying that his men will enjoy the tea stores they will soon capture, after the glorious Wehrmacht has obliterated the 'desert vermin'.
