Probably...
Some moment a time from now, when all hope is lost...then the sun will rise, life will go on, and people will rejoice when they see this patch and then start to find new things to complain about and wait for the next patch!
Seriously though, it will come when it comes, no date is set there is nothing more to say.

I asked the same question
They will probably announce it 4 to 5 days before it is ready. Until then they really aren't going to say.
Although little hints would be nice. But I can understand why they can't give narrower date ranges. People would get very upset if they couldn't meet those deadlines.
so in answer to the question. No one knows. Including Firaxis.

I don't even want narrow deadlines. Just even the most vague sense would have been good. If they had have said back in December "wait at least a couple months and we'll let you know" I would have been happy. I could have neglected this site until then and then checked. As it is, I check every week to two weeks and post asking if there has been any word. Just answer this Firaxis: is there any chance that a patch will be out before the end of February?
Is that a hard question? I'm not asking for assurance of a date. I'm simply saying is the probability 0 or >0 of there being a patch.

Without schedules and deadlines work never gets done. So to say whenever they feel like releasing a patch is acceptable makes me want to laugh. I check this site daily for any information on a patch (that's why I read this thread), but my hopes for a patch is looking more like wishful thinking. The way Firaxis and Infogrames has handled the patching, or lack of patching, for this game is totally unprofessional and slightly arrogant. Most other game companies would be posting updates on their web site and apologizing for the delay. It's sad when you have to come to a fan site to learn about the status of a game patch or any news related to the game. Mental note for myself: don't buy any software from Firaxis or Infogrames ever again.

Hear Hear! Especially when it's one of the oldest and most respected series in PC gaming history, with one of the oldest and most respected names in game design emblazoned on the box. It's really just sad to watch Firaxis piss away all the respect I had for them, because they can't get it together to fix this awful game.

Well, the title on the box should have read 'Some Unknown Hack´s CivIII'. That would have been sincere at least. Sid Meier certainly had nothing to do with it. And it shows.

civ3 fans are whiners who don't deserve to know when the patch is coming out.

I'm filling in for Yin today. So please point all your pointless trolls and illogical arguments at me.
The next patch will be the Expansion pack.

If we offer to send Sid money for a patch they would have one out every month
