Polls
Just wondering. How many times do you have to click "try this action again" when voting in a poll?

I don't get that message, but I often have to refresh the page after voting to see the results.

I don't think so. It only happens on Apolyton Polls. My streaming 28k music and other stuff doesn't lag. It also happens at school with a high-speed LAN-Satellite connection.

But I'm only using a 56k modem at home. Half of that going to the radio though.

A resource issue shouldn't happen when I am the ONLY one using the school's satellite internet connection. That is at work (school) on the weekend. Also, those computers have no sound cards, so I don't stream music.

I have never had that error either.
I do find though, that when I try to view a thread it often stalls half way and then (after a wait) gives up and only displays half the thread. I sumetimes have to click 'refresh' two or three times to see the entire thread.
This is not a problem at my end since it is only Apolyton I have these problems with and I am always using either ADSL or T1.

It takes me a few tries to respond to a poll when I'm at home, it goes first time at work. The strange thing is that I'm jacked into the same overall network on both of them (university-wide), and i don't think it's the speed that matters as I can get download speed of up to 800Kb/s.

I appear to never be able to post in polls under IE 6 while at uni. Similarly, I can't log in to Utopia. However, both work fine under netscape.

Perhaps you should move to Australia, everything runs smooth here.

I'm running IE6, could that be the cause of the problem?

maybe your problem is proxy or firewall based?

Yes that crossed my mind too. Funny thing is, if I try to log in to Utopia from one of the university's computers, I can't do it even under netscape. Which is weird.

I've never had problems although on one occasion, not so long ago, I was able to vote twice in a poll. My first vote was registered, it thanked me for voting and then I was given the options at the top of the screen to vote again. To wit I did and it thanked me again, bumping up the vote one more notch.
Most bizarre.

At school I use a proxy for the LAN internet, and have no real problems except on VBB's, and that I can't figure out how to configure Trillian.
Chowlett, as for Netscape, I, as the school's network administrator can't be bothered. The proxy software just won't work!?!?
At home I have no firewalls, proxies, security and whatnot!
Although I do occasionally get a dud internet connection which gives me a DNS error on any site. It seems to only want to upload.
