SimGolf Forum?

With the release of SimGolf and the demise of Dinosaurs, can SimGolf get its own forum and replace the current Dinosaur forum?
Maybe.

God I hope not....UGH
LOL
OTOH, since *Sid himself* is apparently interested in, and posting about the game, maybe such a forum could lure him here....::hopeful smile::

This subject has been discussed already, but I don't oppose to any group of fans be denied their own forum.
Specially since Yin is so fond of it!

Then you don't consider SimCity to be a strategy games as well, right? Or Theme Park!
And besides, did you even try the demo?

Do you believe that I just entered Earth's 2025 forum about half an hour ago for the first time?
But I didn't read anything of it, though. Don't have time to read all those posts right now.

SimGolf r0x0rz ur b0x0rz fools!
That said, there really isn't too much to talk about regarding SimGolf. Like one poster said: "Wow, trees AND a river."
Still though, it should get a forum over a vaporware dinosaurs game, sheesh.

are there enough people interested in simgolf and are there enough topics for them to post on to warrant a forum? if so then there should be a forum for it.

They're not Civ-like strategy games. When they make "Sim World Conquest" then maybe I'd clamor for it to also get its own forum, but as it stands, Sim games are extremely unlike Civ games. Where's the warfare in Theme Park? Or the diplomacy in Golf? "These insults will not stand. Either you let me take a mulligan, or your life is forfeit!"

Do you really think the game will keep people playing for a long time?
I played quite enthusiastically the first three days and then got utterly bored with it.

There are no plans to create a "SimGolf" forum now or at anytime in the future. The game is not within the scope of this site's coverage.

Woohoo!!
Question though: Why is there a dinosaur forum?? Wouldnt that be outside of this site's scope too??

No and no. Choosing where to put buildings and how much to charge for a hamburger is not strategy, its economics.
Should I have tried the demo?
Can I conquer the world by viciously killing off all my opposition in bloody battles?

Reading your comment makes me think how much gaming experience you have...
Let me enlighten you:
Despite not existing an army to control in Theme Park, you still have to successufully manage the money you have; it is, as you said economics, but it's economics strategy! Whatever you do in that game you must have a successful economic strategy!
Now let's talk about Civ. You have several combat units. In order to achieve world domination, you must have a successful warmonging strategy. BUT, in order to do that, you must have a successfully elaborated economic strategy, so you don't ruin your civ's economy with the war effort! This is precisely what you don't consider to be strategy!
You can't consider not having war in a game to not consider it to be a strategy game!
Grow up, man! And play more game varieties!

Exactly my point. In Sim- whatever you have a certain amount of money to manage strategically. In Civ, you have that and about 18 other things to balance as well. Now which one requires more strategy? One thing, or many things?
Ok, so economic strategy is strategy, but "do I build a burger bar or an ice-cream store" isn't the height of decision making IMO...

Damn! The demo for SimGolf was awesome! I was hoping for a SimGolf forum for exchanging courses to play championship courses on and stuff.
