You get in the action of the stone sweeping down ice. Great stuff.
Peter Lindholm has brought an energy to the sport not seen since Pappy Woods.

Does curling even rank as a sport?
perhaps there just weren't enough events for the olympics so they invented "curling"

I'll pretend I didn't hear you say that. It's as much a sport as race car driving and bowling and polo.

Hmmmm...race car driving isn't a sport... all you have to do is to SIT down, press the speeder and drive the car. IF that is a sport, then it will also be a sport to be racing on a computer, it's the same thing!

I prefer that game where the Scotsmen wearing kilts pick up logs and see how far they can toss them.

As a Canadian,I feel obligated to weigh in here.
Sure, curling is not a heavy action game. Its a strategy game. And a damn good one.Look at it from that point of view and all is well. Not sport, but a game.A physical one in that you actually have to move around and do stuff(try sweeping for for a few ends)but strategy is king.
A very fun game to play.Full contact drunken curling ..a Canadian tradition.

F1 drivers have to be incredibly fit, you know. It's a strenuous business, driving that fast for 2 hours straight.

A common misconception. Raw distance doesn't matter in caber-tossing. It's distance in a straight line that counts.

I guess so, but that doesn't make the game itself a sportsgame. For me a sport is something where you move a little more than just your hands. If it needs someone to sit down 90% of the time, then it isn't a sport

I wouldn't call that a sport, but it is closer to sport than racing

Curling: [definition 4] : to play the game of curling
Hurling: [slang] : To vomit. Onomatopoeic as much as very descriptive of the uncontrollable force of vomiting
Coincidence? You decide.

Since one of the UK womens team members has the same name as my sister and the team just won Gold (first UK winter olympic gold for 18 years) , I suppose I have to vote YES!
...not that I watched the whole final, let alone the previous heats. Like snooker the ratio of exciting moments to time spent is pretty slim. At least with cricket you can listen to it on the radio while lying in the sun enjoying a beer. Now that's all round entertainment!

Oh, curling is perhaps the best game in the entire Winter Olympics (exception of Hockey, and Speed skating, I guess ). It is the most strategic game in these Olympics, and takes some real skill and brains!
