I have a strong suspicion we are. To the east is ocean. Being familiar with the map generator, I'd be surprized if we were connected to the lands north or south. Possibly to the west, but we'll know for certain long before we need to expand there.

we can wait for the next election, we´ll be probably the same cabinet, then you can mail me the save game
but in the future will be very hard for the citizenry to know how the situation is,
we need a solution for the future

I think the save should be zipped and password protected after each time you halt the game. Then sent to the vice-precident. The current password should be split into two parts, and forur ministers would get one part of it by PM. (they would know what part)
idea:
In case our Presiden't doesn't show up in office for 48 hoursthe pats or the password should be sent to the vice-precident, and the he would take for a max of 48 hours. If the president isn't back then an election would be hold on wether the vice precident shall take over the president until the next election, or if the cabinet and presedent post should be freed, and a new election should be hold.
In the later case the game shall be halted for another 48 hours, and every one gets 24 hours to nominate themself, all current cabinet members should be automaticly nominated, in case theey don't resign. Then 24 hour polls would be up on the new cabinet and president post. Once elections are inished the game would resume.

if just the president and the vice get the saved game a password is unnecessary
to make things easier if the president dissapears for 48hrs the vice would take his place until he reappers or until the next elections take place

Hey, no it should just be a temporary post, so if the president is gone for more then 4 days wwe need to reelect before the normal time, as the people can't trust him any more.
And a password would still be neccisary, as the save is not to play unless the president dosen't show up.

maybe his computer breaks down or any reason can happen, and I think is a better solution to make things easier
election could be every 25 of month as something sujested
I think that password is not necessary, if the only two persons have the saves
and if you aren´t going to trust in the vice.... the same can do the president
unless what you are saying is that the vice has the saved file without the password, and each member of the cabinet a part of the password,
that sounds like if besides having a saved game it was the code for a nuclear weapon
but it´s a good idea anyways

I don't need to spend some more research on high-tech sequrity advances then.
And you are right that it could be hard. Howerver, I think that there should at least be a poll if the vice should be allowed to continue after 48 hours. And maybe make those reelections only last until next ordinary election.

I've played to 3000bc, but will not continue until the poll deciding term length is closed. If the rabble decides for 20 turns, this administration is done. Otherwise, we are only begun!
The switch to monarchy results in ~12 turn advances...

No offense Mr. President, but keep going! It doesnt look like 20 turns will win......its losing by a wide margin......and I dont see the point in waisting a day waiting for it to close. And if we've gone to 3000 BC can we get a screen shot? I know its only 3 more turns, but what the heck!

Bronze Working, as that leads in the new poll. Since then, our warrior has moved two tiles, and nothing else has happened. I figured it would be very easy to redo if b.w. lost its lead in the poll...

Gramphos, passwording the game in no way prevents others from opening the cheat mode. You only need to know how, and it isn't hard to figure out.

We are on our own continent. There is room for another city or two, but to expand beyond our shores, we must sail the seas!

Presidente, would you be so kind and get me a list of the improvements our city already has?
And while you are at it, the High Council thread could use a constantly updated list of our current tech advances. Just little stuff to make the wheels of bureaucracy turn more smoothly.

ixnay and shade were wanting MGE upgrades to their versions of Civ2... WHY? We don't need them, do we?
Surely all we minor dignitaries do is vote and sit on our asses on the public purse?

maybe one day there will be a military coup and then I WILL RULE (just kidding MdS,you're quite safe).
If I ever want to be president I need MGE to play(now I only have 2.42 & ToT )
Btw I predict that it will become necessary for the senate to be able to take a look at the game themself(rather to the middle and the end) when the game becomes to bigg to give a decent description of what we have and how everything is everywhere.
So the members of the High Council will need a version >= that we are playing (==> again I don't have(maybe ToT but don't like it that much))

I'm here, just waiting for all the poll results to come in. If all are closed today (this is the first thread I've read), I'll continue the game this evening (-6GMT).

When you continue please post screanshots the moment our boats crossed the sea's and put our 'warrior' on the continents so I can get an idea what to do with them and put out a new poll how to explore them.
Thx,Your Humble and always LOYAL supreme leader of the Apolytonian army

Actually, I want a science update as soon as Map Making is done. That should be before the boats have crossed the sea.
(Just answer the question: Did we start with Currency?, if not did we start with Writing, if not did we start with Mysticism. (Yes, that's the priority order for now, until the current open poll closes, or I see a trend that makes me change it.))
