without a shield in the starting spot we need to look for another placement
but neither south not north looks promising,
there are forests and hill in the north
and plains south,
not inland, without any river close, it would be really slow to colonized the land
I like to have the first city in the coast also,

Don't forget - a city has a minimum of 1 shield on its tile. Thus, that grassland with no shield will have one after we build our capitol.

Once settled, and we have a tech to research, I will post (presumably in the tech choice poll) how many turns to discover the next tech, depending on which special we work.

We need to get on with it, immediately. Waste not, want not ...time, that is. Citizen Shai-Hulud votes for immediate settlement.

The citizenry is surprisingly unanimous. Overriding this would be a political suicide.
I must say, the place is good. Wheat, a pheasant or whatever the name of the bird is, fish...

Settle immediately, and call the capital Apolytonia.
*Marquis passes big pile of cash to Vlad*
Erm... did I say Apolytonia? I meant Marquisville.

Ik ben ooit in Gent geweest, leuke stad!
The capitol is Apolyton. The second city may be Sodaq, Paha Sapa, or some such name...
