Soundwave, I still have Railway in the save you posted. Either you gave it to me again, or it was El Awrence who gave it to me in the first place.
If the latter, can you please play your turn again El? Just don't give me anything for the time being, until I work out what I do and don't want.
Sorry again about the holdup, all.

I can just take my turn and erase all your knowledge of railroad if you like to avoid having to replay turns.

I just replayed my turn, before notcing Winterfritz post!!
And now all the nice gifts I had received have disappeared...
I don't mind for this turn, but if the "generous gifter" could at his next move give me again Tribal Warfare, Gunpowder and Conscription (as before), I would be really happy!! No Railroad, though!!!
Just in case (I don't know if we follow from here or not...), my save:

So no one has to replay their turns, and I still end up without Railroad? You should do that then

Yes, if it can avoid that we have to replay the turns, I think it's better: just erase railroad for Winterfritz (from the last save before the problem was notified, CASE on the 22.02, not from MY last save: I want to keep the techs I had been gifted... ).

El, whatever you did doesn't seem to have worked... I still have Railroad in Case's save.
Sorry all, I guess you're all really sick of this wait... should I just play on (even though I believe I will now lose horribly )?

Don't
Winterfritz, I think it's better if you don't go on from this save: being crippled from the start would rather spoil the game
So it would be better to play again from the point where the first "unwanted" gifts were made, even if it means delaying the game a bit (anyway it didn't move in a whole week, so...).
BUT: don't forget, whoever was the generous gifter, to give me again what I got the last time, which is (from memory): Nomadism, Chieftain, Tribal Warfare, Gunpowder and Conscription !!!
And, please, don't give me anything except one of those as it would hinder my much needed development out of despotism (though I'm in anarchy now )

No big surprise
Soundwave: I should have guessed...
Seems you're really getting used to helping me with techs...
I might call you the next time I've got a technical problem at the office

I may have posted the wrong save
When I sent a diplomat to check on Mexican techs they didn't seem to have RR, so this should do the trick.

Mexico City Gazette
Following the capture of Merida this month, the Mexican President once more called for peace with France and Spain, saying that all three nations could accomplish much more working together rather than fighting.
However, hordes of volunteers continue to flock to join the Presidents new and improved army. Should the French and Spanish foolishly continue their attack, they would doubtless face, not a walkover, but a long and ardous guerilla war in the Mexican mountains.

A freighter bearing rebel troops sunk in the Gulf of Mexico. Lots of gifts of knowledge sent to Mexico proclaiming friendship between the United States and Mexico.
By Mexican request we have not taught them about the 'iron horse'.
