Where can I find the doc? I've just checked the SLeage and Civ Fanatics reference sections and failed to find it. Likewise, the Apolyton search function failed to come up with anything

With only 7 civs and (seemingly) more players, is it possible to use that utility thing (I've forgotten what its called ) that makes the barbarians a playable civ? I don't know if it works with MGE let alone multiple players in a PBEM but it might be worth a shot.
Even if the barbs were still basically unplayable you could still find somebody (whose name may or may not be Xin) to dump them on.

Another progress report
I've finished off the city placements and improvements, and I'm getting started on the events.
Here's another teaser, this time showing a British amphibious fleet being confronted by a powerful French fleet

Isnt that brittish ship in the middle a little out of its era?
It looks like it bellongs in the 30 years war to me (200 years earlier)...
I am refering to the one called "Schwedisches Liniensciff ca. 1630" (swedish ship of the line) in Bernds naval collection collection
There might be some interesting 19th century ships in this one as well (this is one of Arne Schmieds collections)...:

Yep - that's what I'm using to represent a four decker. It dosn't look too bad IMO - four deckers were a bit old fashioned in appearance.
I've also been using Arne's fantastic graphics. I think that the transport and bomb ketch in the shot are by him, as is the proa in the following shot. I'm also using Arnes brilliant city graphics.
Following picture: Malay pirates harass a British Indiaman in the South China Sea.

As Henrik clarified in a civfanatics thread, barb ships DO attack, and quite savagely at that, provided you use the naval slots of the units.gif, which they normally use (i.e. likely the frigate slot). And I can bear testify to that, as I've tested it.

I don't know if John used them, however, they look suspiciously like my reworkings of the coastal/ocean tiles from the HiRes modpack, for "Hammer of the North"... Anyway, nice graphics!

Using the naval slot does cut out the ability to transport ground forces though doesn't it?

Nope. It doesn't. I know in "Hammer" I had barbs attack both at sea and landing forces with no problems. And I used the trireme and frigate slots for the longships they used. Both worked. Strange I couldn't remember before I checked it recently.

No need for apologies. Glad to see them get used . Btw, John said there were some grapx he'd like to use from Hammer, so he might've used something for his scens. Anyway, nice to see the graphics wasn't done in vain.

Anybody?
How does the ANYBODY civ name work in events?
I've heard that there's a bug in it that means that the ANYBODY is the civ which first triggers the event, and this then remains fixed for the remander of the scenario
eg for the following event:
@IF
UNITKILLED
unit=Indiaman
attacker=ANYBODY
defender=English
@THEN
TEXT
A huge Indiaman is captured, and yields 150 gold worth of valuable goods.
ENDTEXT
CHANGEMONEY
receiver=TRIGGERATTACKER
amount=150
@ENDIF
then if the ANBODY in question was at first the French, nothing would happen when the Spanish attacked an Indiaman in the next turn.
Is this correct?

After the number of times I've gotten egg on my face lately ( ) I'm loath to post anything without the darned manual right in front of me but I think I can in this case.
The bug you're talking about occurs with the "TRIGGERATTACKER" switch (and apparently "TRIGGERDEFENDER" as well) whereby the buffer isn't cleared after the first time the trigger is activated (unless one runs delevent I guess).
The ANYBODY switch is intrinsically variable and shouldn't have this problem.
However as the event below also uses TRIGGERATTACKER to define who gets the gold, it should thereafter be the French who always profit regardless of the civ killing the English unit.
Please please please nobody tell me I'm wrong

Update
I've just about finished work on this project, and I'm fairly happy with the way its turned out.
However, I've decided to delay its release untill December on the grounds that I'm going to include lots of tricks I worked out in this scenario in my SDC entry, and I don't want any of my rivals for the SDC Crown getting a look at what I'm entering

About that event . . .
I wasn't aware that the triggerattacker thing worked at all. AFAIK, you must create an individual event for each civ for this kind of thing. I just finished doing this for a scen of mine.

Anybody does not work properly, but in general that doesn't matter as it's usually only used in one time events

No, I couldn't find a map that I liked, and I ended up having to drop all work on my SDC entry (not this scenario, but one on the Seven Years War) in favour of university.
I really should finish this scenario off. It was looking pretty cool when I ceased work on it in may.
