Should some units be able to intercept planes
In Civ 3 land and sea units do not seem to have the ability to intercept planes. This is not true or fair. Most military air defence components are based round land based guns and missles. Not only planes This was repersented in Civ 2 were certain units had double defence against air units.
So do you thing some units sea or land should have the ability to intercept planes and shoot them down

I am going to try to give the Intercept ability to certain ships and ground units. The problem is, like always when you give units new roles, is to find a suitable AI role.

I have seen movies that since WW2 there is something called Anti-Air defense (IIRC).
Why isn't it still in Civ 3? Well... I think we're all familiar with Yin's arguments!

Oh no, the earth is shaking, the air fills with smoke and there's rumbling all around.

simpler is better, right?
But yes the programmers either aren't familiar with computerized AA defense on ships (I'm more familiar with ships) and land or just choose to ignore these systems.
most of these advances are fairly recent. Older AA systems required the old fasioned way of having a someone manning an AA gun. The succuss rate of those are limited.
