Something I just discovered: can't get rid of maintenance costs with Wonders!
FYI - I just discovered the old strategy of building the Pyramids and then selling the granaries to save on maintenance costs doesn't work anymore since it appears that any city improvement that a wonder emulates still brings the standard costs.
Probably better for gameplay balance for those type of wonders since since they weren't supposed to give financial benefits anyway. Maybe I'm just a bit slow on the uptake in finding this out but thought I'd mention it in case anyone didn't know.

uh, not having that problem I don't think...
are you sure the city in question is on the same continent as the pyramids? cause that'll do it.

unless they changed it with the patch ( I haven't played the patched game)
But when you do build the pyramids (or sun tzu's). you have to manually sell off any graneries or barracks you manually built. And this may not work on other continents depending on which wonder it is.

All cities were on the same continent. After building the pyramid, I sold all the granaries and the maintenance costs didn't seem to change.

This is why I liked the pyramids when they helped eased transitions in governments. I still find it hard what a pyramid has to do with graneries. That's just me

Everyone knows that the Pyrmiads had nothing to do with burial of the Pharohs (sp?), but were used to store food for the Egyptians.
