Noyon
I've seen the suggestion to enter /reloadslic in the Chat window to get meaningful messages after loading a patch-straddled game. Can this be done in SP or only in MP? I (think I) tried hitting the apostrophe, without result. It occurred to me that chat isn't meaningful in SP, unless I feel like talking to myself.

(But why talk to myself when the voices in my head are so much more interesting?)

Works in SP as well. It doesn't show up as chat though, just reloads the SLIC silently.

You'll need the chat box. The ' key should work. Make sure you have everyting deselected though. Click in the map at random to deselect, and then press ' .

Aha! That was probably my problem before. Thanks!

Meanwhile, I got interesting results just typing /RELOADSLIC

Let's see: I turned off both the minimap and the control panel, broke a peace treaty, and found the Philosopher's Stone (well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad).

The / button gets rid of the minimap and control panel, I've done that enough times while trying to reloadslic.

No idea how you managed the rest though

I just checked. Previously I had assumed it to be an Activision junkstring, the programming team had a weird sense of humour...

But it seems in fact to be the 27th Mongol City name. Whatdya know?
