Science update
We are targeting for Philosophy, and that will take some time, but we can any way start a new poll, that will last for 72 hours, to not make you restless.
I want you to think and discuss before voting, no overheaded decisions, also give comments on the options. We might need the target before we can research Philosophy.
As usual when you vote, take a chain as long as it applies to you.

Down with the Monarchy, long live the Republic. Not to mention that our revenue, science and we have an option of luxury related growth.

you mean "not brainwashed by me"...
Still I stay with the idea, horsebackriding is just 1 tech inbetween and it would speed our exlporation up(or do you all want to explore with dilpo's???)....How will we ever catch a barb leader if our fastest unit is slower then the barb leader...

What about seafaring, it would give you exploration power, without making you too powerful.

explorers ADM=0/0/1 ???doesn't the A=0 give a problem when trying to get a barb leader?
(and D=0 and you still have to support them Yuecch, probably the reason why I never use them to expensive and to fragile but they are quite fast indeed)
==>they could be a beginning but they dy way to fast.

Yes but it's also my job to defend our empire...(yes 3 moves is much, maybe we should get them both)
and I can't do that with books, maybe except when you write enough of them we can drown our enemy under those books

Well, I'm currenly investigating the power of Magic, and I think that if we just could capture some werewolves and vampires we would be able to deend ourselves quite good.

Maybe I should ask for the replacement of our science advisor since it seems like his he is going insane:
little blue creatures,werewolves,vampires,...

Its due to the lack of educated people in our land, you start to believe in anything.
*Help, I think Shade tries to brainwash me*
Don't listen to him. I'm all fine. No problems here. All I need is writing, and I'll be just fine.

I just found what I need to prove me right. I'm not totaly mad yet. Please don't let him succeed, or this will turn from Democracy to Dictatorship.
Now I need to hide somewhere until my mind is restored.
Nooo, he's here, runs.
*arrrgh* Runs towords my secret chambers, and manages to get in just before Shade reaches me.
*goes to rest, and hopes that my mind will slowly restore*
Me no advisor me horse no me not yes me am No I'm not, and thats incorrect grammar...
I need to not sleep, or my dreams will take control of me. Now I just got to make some stron potion to stay awake.

I just got a very bad head ach, guess those leaves I ate recently weren't good for my mind. Maybe could get some of them into the food of our Military advisor, it seems to be a very strong posion. Now, when do we finish writing, I'm tired of drawing all my secret posiond recipies. Now what more to have in this drink for the military advisor?
Edit: that advisor immune to all known toxins? Then I just have to invent something new.

ok Shade, all the talking is ok, but go and vote, iīm the only one who has voted for horseback riding
we are in a country of cobards, go for engineering, banking...
if we explore we can contact other civs, if we contact other civs we can trade with them, exchange technology...
and we need some units in case a civ declare war on us, or if the barbs appear
we want horseback riding, not a science path to mobile warfare

one for horseback and the wheel
and 2 for the path
those are four votes for horseback riding
by the way, I donīt like to vote for long paths, we donīt know what can happen in a near future...

Well, in case the situation changes quickly, we have to poll on if we shall break the path.

My $0.02.
Explorers are a better option than Horseback. Civ2 is won or lost on Trade. I'll take a camel over a Barb leader anyday. This is not MP and we do not need Horseback! The only thing HB is good for is leading to Monotheism. That's the first mounted unit to consider. Let's get to Astronomy so we can start the SSC (Super Science City). This will lead to quicker discovery then we can get to Tanks quicker and take over the world, if that's the route we choose. Fewer losses and better movement.
We also don't want to consider Republic until we are done expanding and ready to WLTK our way to a massive population. Early on Republic is too hard to maintain civil order when sending out exploration units and settlers/defenders. In fact, I usually jump form Monarchy to Democracy. The only time to consider Republic is if we build Michelangelo's Cathedral, but since this looks like an island world, it may not be worth it. (I think MC only applies to 1 continent, I could be wrong).
Feel free to contradict me, but I'm right and you're not.

Hey! I just figures out who shade really is.
Judging from what he's been arguing, can't you see him say this...?
"NO!!! The defence of our cities is our foremost concern. Build (Horsemen) first, and other improvements later."
Think about it... I know it's you shade... you just want to be knee deep in the blood of our enemies (yet we don't have any).
