next ellections==>nominations here
We are the 24th today(4 days till the end of the month)so we should start nominating for the next gov.So we can start voting 28th and have a new gov the 1st of march.
I'll place the nominees in this post.
--> Department heads And Their Duties
President:
Is responsible for actually playing the game. Also gathers info from Ministers on how the game is to be played. Breaks ties and makes decisions that haven't been made by department heads.
Vice President:
Vice President, and takes over in event that President is missing.
=Backup president(I would suggest to make it possible to combine this job with an other==>something like the minister who is in the governement for the 3 time can has this job as special addition.)
His job is also to listen to the grieves of the population and route serious problems to the right governement-departement.
Military Advisor(Supreme leader of our military forces)
Host polls on military actions, defence, and (If war has been declared) war time actions. Reports military decisions to the President.
Since exploration has been done by 'military' or para-military troops(in most of the last 1000 years of our history)I suggest that exploration(ie the uncovering of the map/hunting for huts)is also one of the jobs of the military advisor.Military exploration can be considered as "To Boldly Go,Where No Apolytonian Has Gone Before"
Science Advisorour personal Einstein-Hawking clone)
Host polls about science rates, and technology goals. Both through research, espionage, and conquering!
This is also the person who will be putting up techlines wich could be followed.
Trade Advisor:
Host polls about tax rate. Trade within Cities, and with foregin powers.Use of caravans(Wonders/foodcaravans to speed up city growth/foreign traderoutes/home trade routes)
City Planner :
Hosts polls on what cities should build what. And how workers should be distrubuted.
Has to work closely with Science/trade/military/...
Emperial Expansion Advisor:
Host polls about exploration(this version of exploration is different from that from the military advisor, here the exploration means that territory will be cultivated-> building cities/improvements bringing the teritory in 'culture' wheras the exploration of the military advisor is just looking around), and city expansion. Picking best city places, roads and rails that fall outside City Borders (These are responibility of City Planners)
Foreign Advisor:
Host polls about wars(if we should declare war or not), alliances, trades of tech, gold etc....to other nations. And also Government Types. The Foreign Advisor aka Diplo/Spymaster is also in charge of diplomats and spies.Attacks by diplomats/spies are ordered by the Foreign Advisor(mostly in cooperation with military advisor)
Regular Players:
Their responsibilites are to vote in polls posed by leaders, as well as discuss possible alternatives.
They also can place their grieves by the vice-president.
Historian:
Keeps track of the gamehistory.
Handles the ellections.(I'd suggest this to be a job you have to keep during a longer period,ie not bassed on election)
Also keeps the memberrecord updated.
-->Who keeps track of the polls??--> the one in charge ie the one who organized it.
President
[MBloomIII/La Fayette/Shaka Naldur]
Vice-President
[-->second in the presidential race]
Science Advisor
[Gramphos]
Foreign Advisor(aka spymaster)
[Matticus/adamsj]
Military Advisor(aka supreme leader of our emperial army)
[Shade]
Trade Advisor
[El Awrence ]
City-planner
[kassiopeia]
Emperial Expansion Advisor
[Frank Johnson]
and our historian still is Albert B
Comments/changes/missinterpretations made by me let me know I'll solve as soon as possible.
start nominating ppl

you can only do 1 job.

I'll take a stab at Pres , unless Marquis runs for re-election, then I'll back out.
Gramphos is on the right track so I'll avoid running for Science Minister.

I would love to be president again, but would rather first let others hold the post. I'd hoped to nominate Shaka, as he'd been the first citizen interested in running for president. Alas, he has too little time!
Because they have as yet had so little to do, I nominate kasseopeia and El Awrence to return to their current jobs. Trade will soon be learned, and our cities will soon need improvements.
I may run for a ministerial post in april...
If he is still active here, I nominate La Fayette for president. La Fayette, are you there?

Looks like fun.
Since it's early in the game and it looks like an easy job so far I nominate myself for the position of Foreign Minister. Don't worry, our nation is secure with me. Anyway, if you do worry, I'll take care of that too.

I support adamsj's re-election to the ministry of Foreign Affairs! Since he didn't screw up on his first term, why not give him another term?

I suggest we shouldn't vote for a vice-president. The second most-voted presidential candidate would become president, just like we did last time.

I received your three PM's. I still don't know if I'll vote you...

hey, I know I'm new and all, but can I throw my hat into the presidential race? I have some experince from.... other democracy games, so I have a general idea on how to run things... although I dont expect a victory, it'd be a good way to start off on a note that would be siginificant as to how I plan to spend the rest of my time here.
