Restart your computer in DOS, type Format c:, press enter.
Just Kidding.
Goto to Add/Remove Programs in your control panel. Civilization III v1.17f will be in the list of programs to uninstall. Select it, press add/remove.
Just curious, why don't you like the latest patch?

Uninstall Civ3, delete the folder, restart the computer. Install Civ3, install 1.16f (at your option).

1.17 Goes
Seems like the verdict is in - NO SALE.
Culture Flipping has not been fixed and garrisons still make no difference.
Trade requests by the AI are outrgeously high.
Techs appear to be swapped all the time by AI civs as they gang up on the humans.
The incessant flood of settlers to every open scrap of land (including a single tundra tile) remains awful.
And on and on.
Just click on the 1.17 icon and follow the instructions to remove it. I already have.
Jeez, and we thought 1.16 had problems!!

Just run the patch program again, it'll automatically remove the patch. No need to re-install the entire Civ3 program again (unless you deleted the patch exe).

Do you even play the game anymore? These statements are both incorrect. Maybe you need to edit that list you have posted in 45 differrent places in your house before you post again.

some people may not want to go this far but i had to. i uninstalled the entire game and then reinstalled it and patched immediately to 1.17f without patching to 1.16. i've noticed that the AI does not spread across the land anywhere near as quickly as it had in the past. with 7 of them going, there is still land to be had and it's not single tile tundra squares either. i've also noticed that there is no more trading going on during my turn. i'm not sure about the culture flipping though as i've just captured my first city in this game and the empire that lost it is in AWE of my empire.
personally i think you'll be doing yourself a favor if you uninstall and then patch only 1.17f. granted this means any changes you made in the civ3mod.bic file with the editor are lost but you can always go back and redo them. i did.

So you are saying the 1.17 is okay as long as you never patched with 1.16? Sounds fishy...
