I would like to start a PBEM with SMACX original factions scenario, speed up a little the start phase. The map is coresponding with the originalmap but in an other format "Great planet, 52 x 104" that is a size between "large" and "huge". If the both alien factions are played by AI, they are more agressive and set as "shameless betray human players"

Difficulty "Librarian" (more will slow too much a PBEM)

Basing on the donwnloadable scenario

Settings for "New Planet"

Starting Year 2105

Human factions got 1 ready built city size 3,
having already recycling tanks and recreation comm in their HQ
and start with 2 Scout Patrols, 1 Unity Rover, 1 former,
2 free colony pods

Alien factions got 1 ready build city size 1 and start with
1 Scout Patrol, 1 MK1, 1 free colony pod
(this difference in the city's size makes the aliens very week,
so I add to the personality of both aliens "shameless betray
human players". If you like to play an alien faction by a human
player you should correct this entry and increase the city's size
for both aliens to 3 and/or give them a 2nd free colony pod)

Energy is as original 50-20-10-10-10-10-10

I invite to play an old scenario.
The story behind:
"Already There" the explorer cried in panic when coming back. "Aliens, the planet
isn't empty."

For 20 years after landing, all humans believed that the planet was left by the former owners times ago.
However, now they have to understand that the planet isn't empty, that a very old and powerful race still resides there, sleeping for ages after a terrible war against their brothers.

Now, when the orbital defence system registered the landing of unarmed but unknown pods with strange, unknown intelligence, the old, great automatic system recalled all to awake and they remember the origin order they got times ago.

Although within the ages of war all technology knowledge was lost, and furthermore the old origin order they had, still there are existing several of the old weapons fully in function, even if none can rebuild again today, but ready to be used if an aggressor will disturb the fulfilling of the old order they are now remembering.

The Humans all do know, both can't live together. The old race's soldier shall call their fleet as soon as they can, and there is no alternate system in range to settle instead.

However, as usual, although the Humans are one race, they are all keen for their own advantages and their different ideology, and their different intentions may be as dangerous for the other as the old alien race is.

So happened in the year 2120 on Gamma Centauri

Well, it's a new PBEM. Basing on a scenario.
And above here the story behind is, to describe what it is.
What I do not understand is, how you say that you didn't find the additional information which are at Planetacol. You should find there all addtional information respective the game. This here a hint only is to that.

The problem here is that very often I can't login or get a 404 or a server not found or such (past 3 days I most time got errors or server too busy or 404 or such), and Planetacol not so much traffic has and it's easier there to differ the topics and find new set up games.

BTW, all right if I throw in as the drones? Pirates are also a favorite if somebody really wants the drones.

Furthrmore, we have 3 more who like to join, without special wishes:
Zulu_Mzulu - any
!Misfit - any or drones
didi - any

This are 7 without me, 8 with me.
A game has 5 spots if the Caretakers are AI (as the original intention is, but I'm seriously thinking if I take they to make it more difficult ;-))

I'm free for any suggestion. This possibilities we have:

a) Zulu_Mzulu gets the Pirates, the Caretakers are AI and the game is full with 5, then we can open the same game as a 2nd one with !Misfit and didi where I'll join, too.

b) Zulu_Mzulu gets the Pirates, I take the Caretakers (upps), and we look for minimum 2 more players to start together with !Misfit and didi the 2nd game.

c) I take the free Pirates in the 1st game, then Zulu_Mzulu, !Misfit and didi the 2nd game take and there we need then one more to start, too (there I take the Cyborgs then).

Pirates have always been my favorite faction, I was just looking at the drones because I started a new game recently and I really like the feel.

In this scenario the pirates will be the only one likely to discover the aliens early on, right?

Eight people wanting to play total, eh? If the scenario was planned for just the five humans then it might be wise to stick with that... I'd happily jump in on the second game as well (I need to stretch myself, so I'll happily play in a second one as well with another faction.)

Drifels, you could take the pirates in the first game, and then I'd happily hop in as the pirates in the second one (letting Misfit have the drones) and you'd be able to take the Cyborgs, where then we'd have 5 players per game, and I'd get some extra practice.

But that's just my idea, a geek who loves this game.
