Cry all you want Europe... no one is listening.
Just a snap from the news today...
As the war in Afghanistan progressed, U.S. foreign policy alarmed a broad cross-section of European politicians and public figures. They complained that the United States was directing its anti-terror campaign without consulting its European partners.
In late December, support for widening the conflict beyond Afghanistan was slim, with just 32 percent of Europeans polled saying they supported attacking Iraq and Somalia if those countries supported terrorism.
Many European policymakers had expected American foreign policy would become much more multilateral after Sept. 11. Now, they fear that the clear superiority of the American military would make other nations irrelevant in U.S. policymakers' eyes.
Is this a surpirse to anyone in Europe?? Of course other nations are irrelevant in U.S. policymakers' eyes. Why should it be any different? It's not like you help when help is needed. But don't worry Europe. The next time you get yourself in trouble (which probably will not be long from now) the US will be there to bail you out... again. I'm so sick of it. Always complaining about US policy but to lazy or stupid to fix things themselfs. I'm starting to like Bush and his war monger advisors (can't believe I said that).
That's it for now... back to work.

It basicly is already.
Europe has a history of turning its back on issues until it becomes a big fat problem. Lets not touch Iraq until Saddam is storming through Europe. Than we'll call on the US for help. It's like a broken record. I can't believe Europe is not for removing Saddam - considering it would cost you nothing!

There was an interesting article in 'Tme' this week discussing the tendancy of the US to bomb places (Kosovo, Afghanistan etc) to remove people they don't like and then expect Europeans to police the aftermath.
Personally I feel that countries should only be making unilateral decisions about matters within their own borders. When one country attacks another, it affects us all.

Not quite, unfortunately.
"Europe has a history of turning its back on issues until it becomes a big fat problem. Lets not touch Iraq until Saddam is storming through Europe."
Overdosed on bullshit propoganda ? Saddam would have a substantial problem getting through Turkey alone. Iraq is the boohman for dishing out an extra 50-100 billion $ in pentagon pork, and North Korea and Iran are in the mix to push NMD. I'd be a tad bit more worried about Paksitan which has nuclear weapons - oh wait, that's dubya's pet dictator for the moment.

does not matter. back to the point of the thread. bout time the US forgets about Europe. Besides, when the US wastes Iraq just be happy. It will give you something new to complain about. At least for the 2 days it takes. I give Iraq 2 days because I'm sure some of our bombs will miss and take out hospitals. The second day will be to hit the targets missed. No one is perfect!

European behaviors on the Balkan were pathetic prior to 1995. What they did was just talk and talk and talk, until Gorazde and Srebrezica fell and Americans finally stepped in with a military effort. Do you guys always learn the lesson after much suffering and pain have been caused?

Yeah, well, next time you have to save your asses from being kicked by the Brits, don't count on French and Spanish to come bail you out.

Nationalism
CIV, though I consider myself a patriot and dislike Islam, even I think Bush's little "You are either for the US or against it" policy deserves a big in my book.
This is the US's war, that the US started...not Europe's. And even if I like it how action against Handmaiden tale-style theocracy is being taken, I don't like Bush's methods or statements concerning the subject. He called it a "crusade"...that was the worst term he could use in regards to the Middle East.
Even if we want European help, I don't see how not recieving help made any nation "against us". If europe really was against us we'd lose.
There difference between me and a person who supports warmongers ,is that I'm a patriot. I do care about and love my country. I am not a nationalist fanatic, who blindly supports his or her country while thinking it is better than others.

MWHC, I believe the whip up USAian setiment against Europe plan is now nearing completion. It is time to switch to part 2, Killing the Euros. Each USA citizen is allowed to preserve one Euro from slaughter. Please post names of the Euros to be spared in this thread.
Toses third world countries can be nuisence sometimes but the only real threat to USA hegomony is Europe, we must deal with them now before they really figure out this uniting concept.
