God that was a boring interview. Lancer did his best but Solver didn't give him anything to work with.
It would have been better if someone that knows Lancer like Sneak had done it.

Horse,
It is really hard for me to know everyone. Especially, he's an off-topicer, don't know these too well.
And I'd be more than happy if anyone contributed questions. Like it's with Ming, tons of questions!

AH, I think Solver did a good job. I enjoyed the questions and am very satisfied w/ the way the whole thing went. Perhaps you are letting your animosity towards Solver cloud your judgement.
Anyhoo, thanks Solver...Dan.

Not to much of the man showed in that interview, very little indeed.
Best part was talking about the Civ III warrior I thought.
The Ming interview will be conducted next week, now that the prelim questions have been asked and answered, the real interview will follow.
Solver, take a tip, whomever you interview, start a thread like my Ming one, to get a feel of what people want to know, it helps.

Chris,
Thanks for the tip! BTW, was just going to email you, but I'll say it here: I want the Ming interview by March 16th. I hate to press with time limits, but I have to.

Agreed, I learned more about that hero than the man (except his love for the game).

This interview didn't mention me at all. Therefore, it sucked.

rah, getting back to the hero and the man...the difference is?
Stefu, I had a blurb about you in the bit where I talked about meeting interesting people, but I cut it. It went..."interesting people like Stefu and his girlfriend AH"
I wonder if any on topic people will leave a message, I hope so.

I only read about the hero in the game (which was richly entertaining), not the hero in real life. And throughout the years I know you've been a hero in real life at least a few times. Those stories could have been equally entertaining.

Well, I thought it went well too. Was a little surprised that Lancer had only met Sten and Sneaky though. I thought he'd gotten together with others too. Derek, GP, etc.
PS: Lance if you're in the market for another strategy game you have to try EU2. If you do a search on posts by St Leo, pretty much every second one should mention it.

I was just beginning to think that a "Faces" interview was the path to obscurity...and now look at these friendly posts.
rah, you are WAY too kind...keep it up...
Velociryx, great of you to take a moment and put in a good word, it's much appreciated guy.
ravagon, thanks for the game advise, I've heard the 1st one was good...isn't that real time however? My reaction time isn't what it was when I was 20...or even 30...Actually 40 is becoming a fading memory. Click fests don't like me any longer.

Real time yes, but it has a pause button and a lot of auto-pause options/conditions that make it play like TBS.
[Edit: Might want to wait a bit though. Its still being tweaked/patched]

Just to add that Solver spent some of his time to figure out as better as posible questions for a person he hardly knew.
Critisizing can be useful but a good word as supplumentary would be appropriate for his work
From the interview I wasn't able to learn about Lancer himself indeed which would be quite interesting but I can say that his alter civ ego was fully revealed
Congratulations Solv for the interview and for bringing back the FoA series. I can tell that FoA is one of the greatest additions in Apolyton for us, the older members that beside multiplaying and downloading we are intersted on learning more about well known fellow Apolytoners

good interview, i'm glad FoA is back!
though i too want to second Chris's idea about making an ask the interviewee thread, because although i don't know lancer on a personal basis i do know that some of his contributions to apolyton weren't discussed in the interview
hehe the biggest "problem" with this interview was it was too on topic
other than that good job solver
and great story about the warrior lancer!
wish i could be that lucky!

Thanks Keygen and Korn.
By the way, I also liked the part about that pesky Warrior the most... really hope the story is true.

Keygen, that's right, I saw no problems with the questions. Also, he did ask about me in the final question but I didn't want to go on about myself too much...hardly Solver's fault, it was my choice.
korn, yup, that warrior made his own story though, all I had to do was tell of his exploits...
Solver, "I really hope the story is true"...Hey pal, I can tell I'm not the only one that feels the history of my Civ.
***BTW, I just checked and I have a save game in 270 BC (before I got all sentimental and renamed Bejing to Warrior Legend) and 510 AD. In 510 the warrior is long returned to dust but the city of 'Warrior Legend' can be seen, as well as the Great Library of Kyoto. Also have 710 AD. If anyone wants the saves you just have to tell me how to send em...or even better make them downloads from this thread?...or from the interview? Is that possible?

What Lancer didn't mention is that every time he's in town, he drags me to all the strip clubs and makes me tip the dancers! I end up fishing his barf-covered body out of the gutter the next morning.
This nice guy act is a huge smokescreen, people!
He's one of the biggest hedonists I've ever met, a regular Caligula. Sad, really.
Anywho, his sainted wife sure puts up with a lot. She's very nice, though I did have to stop her from smuggling my child home in her purse.
I've really enjoyed meeting them, and though some of you may be too jaded to appreciate it, Lancer is truly a wonderful man with a heart that is both large and golden.
A class act...
(Reismark...what are you talking about?)
