Really? This I gotta see!
Darth, finish the secnario! This will probably be the last scenario I'll play for civ2, then I'm retiring it to the bookshelf.

Well gee, I wouldn't want to be the one who puts your civ2 on the shelf...
will you keep playing scenarios if I delay Kyokujitsu until doomsday?

No, I've pretty much stopped playing scenarios except for the PBEM game I'm involved. Your scenario is the only one I'm looking forward to. If you never finish... then I guess I've already retired.

I've taken a break for a moment while I work some bugs out of CSPL with Angelo, but rest assured, once they're worked out, Kyokujitsu will be better than ever!

Bug fixed. Onto constructing Kyokujitsu!
Edit: spoke too soon, it re-emerged with a vengeance.

Just to show you all I'm alive and well, here's a unit I made in about 5 minutes.
Also, If your wondering why I'm taking so long on the next part it's because I'm bug testing several features that will be necessary during the war against the United States.
I'm also figuring out the final details of how I want to implement the U.S. player and how the Japanese player will manage the supply lines ones the fuel depots outside Hiroshima and Tokyo begin to deminish (if they do). The fuel is more closely tied to the production level of the city than I'd like. So close in fact it may nix my idea of supply convoys from the dutch east indies.
anyway...

About the supply convoys... I could just make the player take troops they wanted to keep from disbanding to the dutch east indies and home them there... and home several of the existing units to those cities when they're taken using CSPL...
Hmmm.

Good idea
This would also force the player to missuse their shipping resources, which was a really big problem for the Japanese - it wasn't uncommon for cargo ships to make long journies without a cargo due to the poor management of Japan's shipping.
Amazingly the Japanese only really got their act together on the need to beter utilise their shipping in 1944, after much of it had been sunk by American subs!

Here's a new KMT infantry I made for the next part of the game. It's great how with a few changes you can turn infantry of another nationality into what you need.
I made this one in about fifteen minutes.

Ok, about 200 lines of C++ code and 15 builds later, I have a working system for exploiting the Dutch East Indies.
For all interested parties, when you take certain cities in the Dutch East Indies, five existing Japapnese units will be homed to that city from Tokyo.
It's also worth noting that only army units will be homed to these cities. The navy will have to manually home their units. I've got other plans for the navy.

After cutting it for a day, I have re-implemented convoys using CSPL, and I am quite happy with the results
You can only build "Oil Shipment" from certain Dutch East Indies cities (ones with oil in their city square) , and once they reach Tokyo or Hiroshima (depending on whether you are IJN or IJA), they will tranfser five units to their original home city (in the D.E.I.).
This way, the more you convoy from the Dutch East Indies, the more eased your fuel supplies at home will be. Now I can get really drastic with how far the fuel supplies fall.
Edit: Note to all users of CSPL, forgetting to include bracers after your if/else if statements is a bad idea

Here's a US-style general. To draw him I kind of used a British General by Alex, and then took the outline and filled in the rest with a MacArthur style leather jacket and pants and a Patton style baton and helmet.
Voila!

Today's Update:
I've nearly completed writing events file # 14 and hope to playtest it tonight. Report willl come tomorrow.
Also I'm going to save my position as a seperate scenario file for those who just want to get right into the thick of the Pacific War without the events in China. (You'll be missing out though )

*lets off steam about rediculous bugs*
Well I was going to live with them and just move on and then a rubble pile took one of my cities. That was the icing on the cake...
Back to the notepad. Time to fix these bugs.
I did badly bloody the Americans though
I'll playtest it more tomorrow. I'm a little steamed at my own stupidity for now.

I'm currently working on a plan to use CSPL to augment the Civ2 AI in addition to using the nemo-style events.txt AI tweaks (moveunit).
Some things I have planned:
- AI responds to where you have units AND what cities you have, moving units and resources accordingly
- AI hides units until its turn so the Japanese player can't intercept them before the Allies can move them
- Units that spawn with objectives
- If Angelo ever gets the attack thread working (crosses fingers) I might even work in some tweaks reguarding just how many units were destroyed in a particular area.
The events.txt will handle some dolling out of standard defense units and some things that are easier for the AI than sea-combat. They will also handle monthly and strategic objectives.

Great work as usual Darth!
But
In my pictures this is a Ki21-IIb (Otsu) variant (post 1942). It has a turret on top of the fuselage. 1937/40 Sallies had a glazed canopy instead.
Alas, as if anyone cares...

I could always redraw it for earlier in the game...
...
November 1941 - February 1942
Japan Declares War on United States
Japanese Ki-21 bombers arrived over Clark Field early December 8th to open the war against the Americans. Almost 100 American bombers and other aircraft were destroyed on the runways. The nearly 300 bombers and fighters then moved on to the American fleet moored in Manila harbor. Several cruisers and destroyers were sent to the bottom.
Within moments of the bombardment, 30,000 Japanese set ashore outside Bontoc north of Manila. A few hours later, 90,000 troops and tanks landed on the outskirts of Manila bay and immediately started advancing on the city itself. Shelling was underway before noon.
Half a world away, hundreds planes took the the sky to sink the main American fleet at Pearl Harbor. By mid-day, the entire American fleet was burning or sunk.
The battleship Ise sailed into striking distance of the American harbor to finish off several destroyers that were attempting to get under way.
Although the opening attack was a great success, the Carrier Zuikaku, as she was sailing home past Midway, was sunk by planes based out of Midway. Dutifully, her commander went down with the ship. A destroyer was dispatched to rescue the survivors.
South Pacific Falls Quickly
Japanese naval marines and army troops seized most of Borneo, Guinea, and the Philippines during January and March. Oil from Borneo was rushed to Tokyo to relieve fuel supply problems that had begun to crop up since Americans cut supplies in the summer.
Japanese merchant marine showed their efficiency when they delivered more than 300,000 soldiers to the South Pacific theater in less than two months. These soldiers quickly secured the American naval base at Davao after coming ashore to the South and the North.
The only resistance cells that remain are in Southern Borneo, Western Guinea, and the islands of Java and Sumatra. Japanese field commanders expect them to surrender just as easily as the Americans have in Wake, Guam, and all of Philippines.
Victory over British Garrison in Singapore
The British surrendered Singapore in early Febuary after a short Japanese campaign down the penninsula. The British commanders surrendered after Japanese general Tomoyuku Yamashita forced them onto the island of Singapore, where the British forces had no access to fresh water.
Although outnumbered 3:1, Yamashita's forces proved the superior of the cowardly British.
....
American and Filipino forces surrenduring in the Philippine capmaign:

I don't have parts 8-13 available to the general public just yet since my computer is about 550 miles away but you can get up to part 8 or so from the following address:
http://darthveda.tripod.com/kujitsu.html
I guess I can upload the rest when I get back from vacation.
