Multi -> Pbem -> Hotseat -> Pbem
It is important for Firaxis to keep in mind that many of us Civ multiplayers like to be able to switch our games from one mode to another, mostly for being able to start a game quickly by LAN or internet multiplay, and then change over to pbem/hotseat as the game progresses. SMAC[x] has this feature, but many times games that are switched from one play mode to another would 'get messed up' (players losing turns, units not responding properly).

Please take this into consideration.

Good point. It seems that these features have been added as a crowd pleaser more than as a solid game-play component. And while we only need to look at CtP2 to see what it's like not to get even that much, it would be outstanding if Firaxis thoroughly ran these issue through the ringer over and over, possibly through help with the public (*cough* public beta *cough*).
