Nato Unravelled - 2 - Third thread for turn reporting
Figured as the old one was so slow in loading, time for a new one (and good year, too, at 2200)

2201 to Tau
-------------
I will take NS's last base next turn. I have asked him to change to a scout and burn it.
NS:
I really am *sorry* to welcome you to this game this way. But the way your research was going, I had already resolved long before you arrived to do something about it. It is unfortunate that you arrived just in time to sit and watch. (I liked the unity rover against the fusion silksteel sentinal. Nice touch.)
See you in future games. I look forward to them.

Ah well. Next time, then, fellas. If you have a rematch, include me, please. I'd like the honor of kicking BC's butt back to Earth.
I will burn the base down as asked...

2201 to Googlie.
Though it will not help me one bit, at least I finally managed to beat big_canuk to the Cloning Vats in one of these games.
The council has been called to discuss the matter of a global trade pact. Foreman Tau Ceti has voted Nay.
Thanks for the game, NS. Shame it did not last longer.

Turn to BC.
The scout will take 2 turns, as I do not have enough EC's. When the scout is completed, it will obliterate the base.

Now there is a surprise.
2202 to Googlie. I did not get a message with the result, since big_c called the council again immediately, but I expect the trade pact was defeated?
Now taking bets on how long I will last. I give myself the benefit of the doubt and say 10 turns.
NS, looks like you will get another turn. Big_canuk moved a unit onto the rocky square you were using and delayed your production.

BC, will you quit messing with me already? Isn't it enough you have pounded me into the fungus and killed everyone? I keep my word! The base will be destroyed, just need a unit to do it with.

2202 to BC.
It will take 3 turns now because I was robbed of the one mineral producing square in my base radius by BC.
Final Vote:
Tau Ceti 308 (voting: Tau, NS)
B_C 687 (voting: BC, Googlie)

After that mistake, my life expectancy has dropped to about 5 turns.

<-- Stevie Wonder smilie
Oh well. I am going away for over two weeks soon (22 Mar till 9 Apr). I had intended to play on and see if I could slow the tide a little bit (especially with Fusion Power), but now that I have a bunch of elite Chaos Invaders in the very core of my empire, there is little point even in that. Might as well surrender now.
2204 to Googlie in any case...

2204 to Tau.
-------
Great. That's 2 for the good guys. And my elite LOC was just coming on line next turn. (Along with wave copters).
I have *never* been able to use those beasts. I always win or loose before they come.
I can play on, but you are right. Stopping is probably the best.
This was a real fun one. I never knew how much I like the Gaians. Early centari mediation for 2 nut fungus, and empaths, to help my early pop boom was key, I think. And as I said in another thread: G and I must have cashed about 20 AAs. I think we got more tech from AAs and steals, than we researched ourselves.
Again, good game!

I'm just itching for a rematch after Tau gets back.. just to kick your butt , BC. Grudge match? Naw... I just want a fair crack at you. No more wimpy factions like the Uni, either. Drones for me. I can make the Drones sing soprano.
