I just don't pay attention to substituted homophones.

If a homophone word is spelt correctly and substituted in I will not pick it up. I would however pick up the spelling error in a sentence written phonetically in Finnish but to be understood as English.

No. Licking one's arse doesn't taste good, and I compare your nuisance to that, because your feedback was tasteless (or more like it tasted s**t).

Simple explanations can sometimes still be hard to understand.
I just compared Sagacious' feedback to the taste you can sense when licking someone's arse. Why? Both are as equally discusting.

That wasn't a simple explanation, that was a restatement of what you'd already said? What "feedback" are you referring to?

Ah... the asteroid heading for us? That is projected at the moment to be in my backyard in 17 years? It's right there on the OT front prage FCOL! It's nothing serious though, but I hope it'll prepare us for something similar in the future.

You're right, there is!
I've got the same 'problem'; I mix up know/now, hear/here, their/there etc. It's because one thinks in English. In my case that's rather worrying.

FlameFlash,
you're just right. It's a simple explanation to me, but not the others. Shame on me!

Sagacious Dolphin, I didn't see the spelling error either.
That shouldn't make you feel any better, though - I'm as thick as 2 planks.

Ok, I see the error now...
For those of you who are slow to catch on to the spelling error, like me, it's "You know you spend too much time on Apolyton when.."
That's more of a typo

I find that the only way to speak a language properly is to train yourself to think in that language. It takes me way too long to, say, think everything in English and then translate to Indonesian for speaking / writing. I just use the Indonesian words I know (which are, unfortunately, not all that numerous ) in my head from the start.

*nods* That's how I do it with my limited amount of German as well, Mr. President...
Of course, all I know are three languages (paraphrasing Fifth Element.)
English
Bad English
& Bad German
