6-10 times, but I'm not even close to diety yet. No interesting stories, but not because they weren't interesting at the time, more because I've got some kind of mental block.
Stopped playing after 1.17f came out, went out and bought SMAC, and trancended on my first game. I like the mechanics and setting of SMAC better, but there's quite a bit of CivIII I miss.
The SMAC AI does sillier stuff than the CivIII AI, of that I can be sure
About 6 that I can remember. I've been playing at Emperor all but the first 4 games at Regent and Monarch.
Three losses on space victory to Joan de Arc, Cleopatra, and Xerxes. I was probably Hammurabi in each case.
I resigned early in two games:
Once when Montezuma showed up at my door step with about 30-40 knights. I had stuggled out of a bad starting location with unimaginably thick jungles. Was starting to do pretty well, but the Aztec had gotten a bit too large for me to handle.
The other when I was weakened after a long war with the English, and the English convinced the Germans and Romans to gang up on me. The AI senses weakness. They seem to know when you are over extended. I think my reputation had something to do with it too.
Oh, and there was one early game where that nasty Bismarck sneak attacked me and took out my warrior and spearmen in capitol. That's OK, I have gotten even with him in more than a few games.
