An error log has been created
A feature unmentioned by Soren et al:
In my last game (Iroquois, deity) I was about to launch my spaceship. I selected the launch button and............
.................."civ3.exe has performed something it shouldn't, an error log has been created"
A last line of defence for the AI perhaps?

I Think it's a RAM problem. Do you have 2 clips or more of RAM with uneven amouts on them? Or are they all PC100 or PC133? I'm asking cuz I had the smae problem and it was RAM. I had 2 clips, 1 of 128 and 1 of 256.
Spec.

I have two clips of 256MB, both PC133. It only happened once, so it was probably just windows realising it has been stable for too many hours and rocking the boat a little. After my initial cursing I did think it was pretty funny and worth sharing.

I've actually got this message when playing SMAC since I upgraded to Win2000. Does anyone know where those error log files are actually stored?

Lol, no, but I doubt it'll do you any good. Windows error messages aren't exactly helpful. I just upgraded to win2k as well, and all the main games I play (civ2/civ3/quake3) work fine, but there are sometimes problems. The usual advice is to get the latest drivers for your hardware.

With XP the minidumps go here:
D:\WINDOWS\Minidump
Your HD may vary.
I think the log is supposed to go into the users temp file folder but I wasn't able to find it in there myself lately.
I was haveing a problem that started or rather increased significantly shortly after installing 1.17f. It was just a coincidence though. I removed my oldest memory module and now things are stable again. I had suspected that thing for quite a while.
