I want everybody to know that I will never again replace anybody else in a tournament game.
I have a choice between accepting a tounament point loss for a game in which I have played 20 turns or effectively ruining the game by submitting, and leaving an even later replacement to get crushed in turn.
What bloody fun!

91 to mong.
due to mong's intent to build weapons of mass destruction, with his soon to be researched doc air, and his refusal for 'total' and 'unconditional' submission. the hive is forced to disarm the spartan regime by any means necessary.

Lovely. Expect delays. I expect to give this game consideration equal to that shown me by its players.

purposely delaying a tourney game, because you're going to lose, Mong? talk about poor sportsmenship.
as for consideration, i offered u a submission, but u refused, demanding extra consessions from me.
oh, and your FU email to me, yet u talk bout consideration.

also on the consideration issue mong.
consider this. i gracefully accepted defeat to you in our CGN 12 game. now u return the favor, by saying you'll delay one in which you'll lose to me?

This looks like it has potential to get ugly. I doubt the deeper issues are worth getting personally unfriendly about (it is a game, after all), but I would like to review the situation.
Therefore, I request that smhfan86 and Mongoose each send me an email detailing their views on the situation, on what appears to be the problem and a brief history of the events leading to the current conflict. I know you are not mindreaders, but if you could try to guess at what may be the reason for the other's perceived unreasonable behaviour, that would be appreciated. I will then see if there are any misunderstandings that could be cleared up and try to find a way to let the game go on unhindered.
If any of the other players have anything they wish to say about the matter, they can also send me an email.
In the interest of avoiding a heated debate and harsh words that may be regretted later, I propose that the public discussion stop now.
Does anyone object to the procedure I suggest?

It is of course extremely ironic that my intervention is currently delaying this game. Still, I need to write some replies, and doing that in a thoughtful manner and keeping all the relevant points in takes time. I have hardly had a spare half hour since Friday. Will get things done tomorrow, I promise.

Greetings everyone.
Tau has told me that he mistakenly did not turn off the restart eliminated players option. When I eliminated Morgan's last base, he was able to escape to a small island just west of where his old territory was.
I've asked Tau for further clarification on this problem.

Tau told me that I should not give out the com frequency for free, because people would normally lose it in this situation.
He also said that Mong will be able to contact Morgan, but won't be able to trade the com, because he only has the EG, not the actual com.

All right, having spoken to most players, I have a pretty good view of the situation. Overall, there are lots of differing viewpoints and it will probably be too hard to reconcile them all. However, I am quite confident that there will not be problems with having the game continue with the same players. Play on!
But there is another matter. As can be seen from earlier posts, Mongoose feels that he has not been in this game for long enough to really affect the outcome - that the foundations of what now looks to be a likely loss were laid in the first 70 years of play by Darsnan.
He was also unaware of the tournament rule that allows replacement players to decide, upon viewing the situation when they take over, not to let the game count towards their tournament score. He was not informed of the rule when he took over, as I was not involved in the replacement at all - Darsnan did the recruitment and password sending himself.
Mongoose says it is very likely he would have used the opportunity not let the game count, had he known about the option. Having seen the turn, I am inclined to agree - that is, if I had been in that position, I think it is quite likely (though not 100% certain) that I would have done so.
Therefore, I have no problems with allowing it now. However, as a number of turns have been played in the meantime and the situation has since become even clearer, I feel that I must have the consent of all players - some of which might be affected negatively -before implementing it.
The effects would be as follows: Any victor(s) would still get their full allotment of points; 3 for solo and 1 for team victory. Mongoose, if defeated, would not lose a point, and would not count as defeated for bonus point purposes (i.e. any victor(s) would not get bonus points for any potential victories by Mongoose in the same tournament season). However, should he manage to win, he would gain no points, ordinary or bonus, from that either.
In all fairness, the same option should be given to knowhow2, who joined the game even later, should he want it.
What say you?

I accept the situation as for Mong not to gain or lose points from this game.
As for myself I really didn't know about the "repalcement-rule" before but I would, if I knew, propably still played it with all condition in account(although I should take the advantage of the situation since smhfan is in a huge lead). But honesty first.
So I'm still going for the gaining or losing in this game .
I will hold on to the turn until all players have declared their will towards this solution.

As a goodwill gesture (since I understand that my diplomacy - or lack of it - caused some aggravation), I will invoke the replacement rule, so that I will neither gain a point for co-operating in a victory nor lose a point if defeated
I will further break Pact with smhfan one turn before his (inevitable) victory so that he will not be penalized by my "hanging on his coat tails" and will accrue solo victory points, which will address one of Mong's principal objections.
(I, too, was unaware that a replacement player had an option for the game not to count in the standings)
G.

so as i understand it.
mong and googlie are invoking the replacement rule and kh2 isn't. right?
p.s. Tau, I suggest that you tell every replacement in a tourney game from now on about this rule, as I've never heard of it either.
