Ctp2 Lobby...no one there
I have recently downloaded the Servers.dat (at last) But surprisingly no one is even in there...come on there is 6 server channels and all of them are empty...whats going on?
Also, yesterday when i went in (on my own(just chekin it out)) i noticed my PING was at the number 0/green, is that like that because im the only one there or are you not supporsed to see your own (??)
i dont know...Anyway does anyone in here actually go in there, if so...WHEN???

Hi freestyler,
Your ping will always be zero and green. I'm pretty sure it's because you can't see your own ping.
I was on the servers this weekend as well and was disappointed at the lack of people online. I finally had some time too.....

That is why we are (trying) to start a multiplayer registrary. Activision made one lobby for those with the patch and one lobby for those without the patch with the end result that nobody could really find the people they wanted to play with when they wanted to play.
Go to the Apolyton MP registrary and fill out the form then try e-mailing and/or ICQ-ing the other people to arrange an MP game. If you do that you shouldn't have any trouble finding others to play against.
Lastly, your ping rate says how long it takes for one ping that your computer sends out to bounce off of the other players server and return to your computer. Since it doesn't take anytime to bounce a ping off of your own computer then your ping will always read a zero.

Good advice Oerdin
I'll check to make sure I have properly patched my game. As far as the multiplayer registry is concerned that's good too!

Play him one on one with no AI, on a small map, pangea, 70% rain, max goods, 80% mixed tile type. This will give you lots of grassland and rivers plus lots of goody huts. I suggest five settlers each and all wonders excluded. Then you need to build nothing but offensive units. I suggest archers and hoplites/warriors in a 1 to 1 ratio. Always attack with at least two stacks of 12 and if you can then get him to attack your units on tiles that grant a defensive bonus.
The main rule to winning these mono y mono style games is to ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK! Kill his units and disband his cities. That way he can never take them back and you will slowly out produce him.

I usually have problems entering lobbies..
After I got the new servers.dat file from the FAQ, i can see more servers now, which is good. But out of the 5 servers, only 2 ever let me into the lobby. The others just sit there waiting for the lobby forever. Or I get a persistent 'connection lost' error.
At least I have the two working lobbies!! Hope to see someone there soon. Any suggestions as to why the lobbies wont work?
Can one set up one's own lobbies or servers? (Star Trek voyager Elite force has a server setup utility - anything like this?)
