Paging MarkG, Paging MarkG
The natives in Civ3 Strategy are getting restless. The tournament players miss their fearless leader. Some of them are a bit concerned for your well being. Seeing as they haven't heard from you for some time now, so am I. I hope you are all right.
And then, does anyone know how MarkG is? Is he OK? Is he on vacation? When will he be back?
Anybody?
Salve. For real.

Yes, according to PM Tracker it has been almost 6 days since Markos last read his PMs (and right before that he was also offline for almost 4 days). It's that I know better, but ordinarily I would start to get really worried by now...

Does that mean you know what's what and you're not worried? Great.
Sombody in the know might drop a line in the Tourney threads to let them know that Markos will be back at some time or other. Really, some of them are beginning to think that bad things must have happened to him.

Perhaps Ming caught him spamming and sent him away on a vacation.

Damn, it's been 10 days, now I *am* starting to get a little worried. Either he's on a long (and well-earned) vacation, or he's got some *really* hard finals to study for...
Dan, if anyone knows, you do. Do you know what's up with Markos?

Well there are a few options on where he might be:
1. He has very mush to do in real lift
2. His computer has crashed, and he tries to get online again
3. OBL has taken over his house and hold him as hostage
4. Markos has forgotten his password for Poly
5. Markos is on a vacation somewhere
6. DanQ got mad because Markos took all the space, and IP-banned him
7. Anything else

Markos is alive and well.
The primary reason for his prolonged abscence is that he has simply been having technical problems with his computer and moreover those that he took his computer to to fix it.

Yeeah! He's well.
And boooo! The sucky techs, if it's their fault.
Honestly, sometimes fixing a computer can be like finding the needle in the haystack. Not just any old needle, THE needle. Accept no substitutes. Oh for the joys(?) of a blown power supply. Replace. Fixed. Unless...

Thanks for the info, Dan.
A little odd, though, you'd expect him to be able to access 'poly from uni or work or whatever...
(Just the thought of not being able to access this site for two weeks *shudder* )

Markos is able to access Apolyton from other locations -- proof of which is in his postings over the past couple of months or so in the forums -- but he is not able to do so regularly, his time is limited and is limited in what he can do from those alternate locations. Also, when he is at work he is working on... work and he does have to spend time on his coursework as well (as do I).
As for the exact natue of his computer trouble, it is significant but I will leave it to him to explain all the details if he wants to when is able to do so.

True, but that hasn't been the case for almost two weeks now. Although I completely understand the situation (I've been through it myself), two weeks is a long time...

What?! Why on earth would he want to do that?
